dyenboy - I have a comment about the board as a whole that has nothing to do with rules/policing/etc. And before I say this, I don't mean it in a derogatory or rude way, because I can't even imagine how much time and effort the mods and admins must put in making this site what it is.
But, my question was, are there any plans to put the site on a faster server? I got an email today about rewriting part of the script that was slowing down the site, and I can see somewhat of an improvement, but there are still parts that are slow. For example, when you get to the main page, and you click on the "Forums" link over on the left side of the page, it takes quite a while to load the page.
I don't want to sound like I'm whining, but I know the issue has been discussed before, and was wondering if you had any input/feedback. Thanks again for all the hard work, because I really love this site!

Some problems are associated with postings. For example, I'm seeing alot of posts about wheels, tints, and mods, in the general forum. While it is a General forum, you are not going to get REAL answers here. For example, I know that ALOT of brillant people that respond to the Modification questions do not even go anyplace near the coupe forum because there is always someone that makes an inane comment to these questions and it's terrible. It is bad when people pull numbers out of their butt or give someone wrong advice just beacuse they are spitting back what someone else said on the forum when the guy reading did serious research and there is no way he can convice this child that he is wrong. So I advise you to post your questions in the correct category to avoid them being moved by myself or another administrator.

Mr. Joey Avino,
I recommend you let someone who needs an answer to a question post where he or she pleases. Now, if someone were to post a window tint question in the audio section, fine. Thats understandable. But if I put a question or comment about tint or my wheels in the "GENERAL" section, why am I so wrong? You are saying that questions wont get answered, but who is to say that the people responding in the Tech/Mod section are 100% accurate anyways. They are the same people that would respond in the General section. As long as its in the General section, any question should be legit to ask. By having you moving around my question from where I posted it to another section, thats going to have me wondering who answered my question, and even where my post is! People have not been complaining about how this webpage has been set up. The only person who I think is abnormally troubled is you. Let these forums exist like they have been, naturally. That's what has made this site the best for G35 enthusiasts like myself, and hopefully will continue entertaining and informing me in the future.
Thank you.

You're mis-interpreting what I'm saying. I never said that people in the Mod forum are 100% correct all of the time neither did I say you were wrong for posting whatever it may be in the General section. You just have to understand that if it makes the owner of the site or the moderators angry for seeing that, there is nothing we can do, it is our Job to move them out of the General section to where you can obtain more quality of an answer in the correct section.

sweet..now were getting somewhere..
I believe the majority of our members have their reasons why they post in a section..hey I did it before many times..
All we mods and admins ask is that members take the time when you post..where would be the most activity for my thread?..Is my post meant for coupe owners only?..or for the general public?
As for now...we will keep the rules offline for now...until we have major issues..
but keep up the problems..the more we know..the more we can solve..sounds hella corny..but meh...

Well, the problems I've had here are past problems, I just decided to leave the board completely it was so bad. Particularly bad was "Mixed" who took every opportunity to jump on people and to be a general assshat.
After EXTENSIVE communications with GSedanman, I decided that the "stern warnings" which were being given weren't effective or just weren't being given seriously. That isn't to fault GSedanman, but I think the mods/staff are here more for pleasure than for baby sitting. But it seems that baby sitters are necessary with the likes of Mixed running around. There have been more than just this one character, but he had just been in everyone's face and others had problems with him too. They also communicated their concerns with the mods, which also fell on deaf ears. Its a shame.
Suggestions? If someone is being problematic, give a warning, if he continues, take away posting privileges. (Probationary) If after privileges are restored, it continues, ban his IP and publish the IP list in the mod section. If my experiences from www.ar15.com are any indication, if the banned person comes back on another IP, it'll be damned close AND they'll continue their regular schtick. Negative people don't change tunes, only names.
I hope I don't sound bitter, but you're losing the older people around here because of the actions of a few kiddies who want to talk big. After dealing with attornies all day, I don't want to come home and see little brats acting bratty, I want honest, good discussions.
Now I'm not saying that this board should be tailored to professionals, but it SHOULD be welcoming to us. I've been told to stick to informative forums, like tech or whatnot. But the thing is that I'm looking to meet people from the board in future show and shines or whatnot, not purely to know the hottest newest thingamabob I can screw onto my car. Coupe Discussion is the best place (besides the regional forums of course) to meet like minded folks with ideas or thoughts about our cars.
So for a quick rundown so I'm specific, I'm not looking to eliminate thread topics, only the types of people who makes threads unenjoyable. How do you do that? Sort of like how you find if something is ****, you know it when you see it. That basically boils down to giving your well chosen mods the abilities to punish people who are harassing others or detracting from the threads by personal attacks.
That's just my $.02.

FYI - do a search for user name "Mixed" and you'll see he's still at it. Almost every other post is him calling someone an idiot or whatnot. Is there a reason he's tolerated around here?!?

The only real problem I see is the amount of huge *** signature pictures. Do you really need those in every post? That to me just takes up storage and bandwidth.
