G35 snow capabilities

I have been contemplating purchasing a new G35 Coupe but am concerned with the cars derivability in the snow. I live in Utah where there was on average 6 days this year that it snowed heavily and effected my commute. I have read that as long as you get some snow tires and use the VDC it tracks well, however as my only car is it as good as an all wheel drive car? Speaking of, has anyone heard whether or not the coupe will be receiving the all wheel drive chassis that the sedan just got?

Thanks, Sixsix

Re: G35 snow capabilities

Thanks for the reply, I am currently driving an SVX with all wheel drive and have found that as long as I can accelerate without slipping I'm okay. Turning in any car just takes experience. I wish I could try one out in the winter before making a purchase.

The coupe is a monster with the Blizzaks on them. Ive plowed through a pile of fresh snow in my drive way with no problem. And I live on a hill. Don't even think about driving it though with the Pilots....the Pilots suck.

We get a fair amount of snow up here in Ontario, and my Coupe with snows on was fine. The Pilots that came with it were useless but they're strictly summer tires anyway.

With Blizzaks and some 17" aftermarket wheels you should be all set. Here in Boston we get snow and the wife had no problem at all.

Re: G35 snow capabilities

I live in an apartment in Saratoga Springs NY. We get alot of snow here and my parking situation is pretty bad, but I was fine with careful driving and 17 inch aftermarkets with blizzaks. I think the coupe is capable enough in the snow. Does have some trouble on hills. I would not decide against the coupe based on concerns about winter driving as long as you buy snows.

Re: G35 snow capabilities

No way! I find your pic exciting yet with a sense of ah. If you drove your G35 in that I should be fine. Thanks to everyone for the information. After a trip to the bank I must put off my purchase for now until I get a larger down (or the 2005's come out)
