Rear view rattle

I was curious if anyone else has had this problem. I heard an odd rattling coming from my car and I think I norrowed it down to the rear view mirrow.

Re: Rear view rattle

Unfortunately, I just got my car back last night for the 2nd time for the same JINGLING noise. I sent them an e-mail today and told them the noise is still there. I want a NEW mirror. Even though it's a little jingle, it is very, very annoying. Mine gets louder when you turn up the music. Grrrrhhh......
When I take my car back for the 1st service I requested a new mirror. I'm sick of this!!!!

Yup, I get that too. It gets very annoying when I am driving on the freeway and it gets slightly bumpy for a couple miles. I just turn my music up and the sound goes away for me. The dealer tried fixing this twice, but hasnt succeeded yet.

I have the same issue. Tried fixing the wire, tried the TSB. Still no good. The rattle comes and goes. It drives me nuts sometimes .

Re: Rear view rattle

I had the same problem.. posted a few times re: rattle in rear specifically on the passender side for my car. I went to Southbay infiniti in torrance, ca. initially, they said it was rear license plate holder- they padded it. of course that didnt fix it. 2nd time, they opened the rear shelf, they didnt find anything wrong, so they didnt do anything even though i mentioned the existing TSB on that. tried 3rd time, they opened it up again, even drove it on the freeway (w/o me) and said, there's nothing wrong, and did not do anything... it's so annoying because it comes and goes, and everytime you go to the dealer, you have to prove it to them, it gets harder when it's faint. to them, faint noise = no noise. but fortunately, maybe from removing the panel a couple of times and putting it back again, somehow fixed the rattle. i used to hear it when im driving on the freeway at 60+ mph during changing of lane hitting the lane markers. i wont be surprised if i hear this again though because there wasnt a permanent solution done. the G35 coupe is a good car.. performance and looks. overall... i think infiniti has to fix a lot of noise/vibration problems that some of the owners experience = rear shelf, rear side panel, moonroof, door rattles, seat belt rattling against door/panel, abs resetting too loud... so frustrating and disappointing. it doesnt have to be a $50k car to make a car quieter.

Re: Rear view rattle

Yes. It is a buzzing type noise that goes away if you grab the rearview mirror. I've moved it into every possible position, but nothing seems to stop it. I think that it is something internal to the mirror. I've also noticed that the temperature outside the car seems to have an affect on whether or not it rattles. It seems to be most anoying between 30 and 50 degrees outside. It seems that if the interior gets hot, then it doesn't rattle. I probably need to get them to order a new mirror on my next service visit.

Re: Rear view rattle

I wonder if it is something specific to the electrochromatic mirror. Out of all my cars, all the ones with auto-dimming mirrors are the ones that buzz on rough pavement.

However, my sunglasses vibrating in the holder, is the single noise annoying me the most. Does anyone else's sunglasses vibrate in the holder?

Here's a link on how to fix. The mirror rattle section is at the bottom of the page.
