lol...use the trip odometer. drive till on you're super empty, fill up, reset trip odometer, and repeat. make not of the miles traveled - that's roughly your "miles per tank".

divide by your miles traveled by how many gallons you put in at that second fill up and to get an approximate miles per gallon.

I've been averaging about 360 with "spirited" driving before I refill when my gas light comes on, mostly city, I only really do highway on sunday for about 80 miles. I don't really have stop and go traffic, its pretty clear when I go to work. Last time I filled at 380 and I still had 3 gal left so I'm pretty dang sure I could make 420, I just get antsy when that gas light goes on.

I'm postin a average of 400 per tank with only a few bursts on the "Shank quarter mile" (cop free just before home...well mostly cop free, there was one sneaky bast...love em!) I'd love to call it city driving but anyone who knows Spokane would die laughing at "traffic" around here. Now on trips over to Seattle and such she's damn near 480-500mpt! W00h00 for a Z-tube and looooong history of speeding tickets to keep that "pedal-sticks-to-the-floor" at bay

I just recently went 475 on a full tank the was 90% highway. On normal driving I get between 385-420 on a full tank.

I just got a replacement VQ motor on Friday from Cerritos Infiniti and to break it in i drove it to Las Vegas from LA. 270 miles later i had only used up half a tank of gas! on the way back i filled it up and again another half a tank. so about 540 miles and a little over a tank of gas was used.

Hey Mustang - that's pretty cool. Why did you have to replace your engine? Was it the oil consumption issue? Also, I think you have to do stop and go driving to do the break-in miles. I don't think straight highway will do it. Maybe someone more familiar with engines/break-in can confirm?

Yea it was was the Oil Consumption issue. my previous motor had no oil in it after 900 miles during the consumption test so they replaced it within 3 days. Yea i do stop and go daily to work. But with previous cars i have taken them on long trips from the get go and they have lasted me longer. who knows? hehe

I recently drove up to Fort Worth from San Antonio. I had just over 475 and know I could of reached 500 but didn't wanna chance it. That was me driving with a "heavy foot" .

I get about 200 - 220 on 10 gallons of 91, 50/50 on HWY/Street driving. Have a small exhaust leak though.
