I recently ran my car past the Empty line and its scary. I was at 290 miles and when i left it on D it started sputtering like it was going to shut off. When i switched to MM it let me rev up normally. I was afraid to rev though, in fear i would run out of gas. The most i have ever got out of a full 16 Gal tank is 315-320 miles if i remember correctly. Lately i have been getting 250-280 on 93 Oct Chevron..... I have a feeling its the gas itself, lower quality or mixed.... something! I have been using the same gas station for 7 months and now i start to notice a change in mileage? Real weird

With my 06 G35C 6mt my last fill up it took 18.7 gallons to fill my tank. My milage is all over the place my last trip from south dakota to Texas I averaged 27 MPG on the interstate but if i drop my speed below 65 I've seen 30MPG but around town or back and forth to work I usally only get 17-19 MPG.

This has been a common practice for many years by most car manufactures. By setting the gauge to read at the E mark with 2-4 gallons left, they're ensuring that you'll likely never run out of gas. Check your manual under the capacities section (9-2 in mine). If you don't have your manual, here's a link to a PDF version for the '07 coupe:

I once got 445 miles out of a tank without my low-fuel light even coming on. It's usually less than that.

i get like 250 around the city, no matter how i drive. but when i drive to FL from GA, (atlanta to Palm coast) it'll go more than 410 with the gas gauge at 1/4 tank left.

It wasn't all highway.... but I don't recall exactly how much highway or city driving I was doing during that specific tank since it was a good year and a half ago. I actually find that I get really good fuel economy around town for the most part if i'm able to fight off the temptation to romp on the gas pretty heavily, since you can loaf along at low RPM's and get awesome economy. My highway economy isn't that great lately since switching to a wider and heavier tire than the stock Michilin PS... but it's still not bad, per say.... about 22-23 MPG at around 70 MPH and overall about 21 MPG combined with lots of short drives during my 6-mile commute to work... which is down from my normal average of 23.7 MPG back when I had my original Michilin tires.

Always get over 400 miles per tank unless I do some serious playing around for a few days on that tank and that has never dropped it under 320...
