So I went down to the infiniti dealership yesterday to tell them that i will be buying an 06 g35 6mt in the near future. (5-6 months. yes it dos seem long, but im nuts about this car!) And so i told him i wanted a 06 dg coupe 6mt and any interior but white! So he did a look on 6mt coupes even though he wouldn't be able to hold it for me that long. Anyways, he could not find any6 speed coupes at all at his dealership or is sister dealership. He said that "6mt coupes are rare" is this really true?? I plan on buying only from a dealership, because honestly i don't want to take any chances. Shouldn't 6mt coupes either 06 or 07 be easy t find i mean only 2 years ago??? Please respond, because i'm kindafreaking out that I will not be able to find my dream car coupe that i have been waiting 2 YEARS for. please respond thank you fellow g lovers...

I can tell you what my dealership told me when I bought my 04 (I bought it brand new in 03). He told me that 15% of the G35's made were coupes, and only 15% of those were 6mts. I had to wait several months for mine to come since they were so hot at the time but I dont know how much that has tapered off with the new ones.

I put a deposit on a DG 6MT coupe back in 03 and waited about 6 months... they called me several times with a black 6MT coupe, wanting to know if I wanted that instead since they could never get their hands on a DG.... eventually got fed up and went with a sedan.

Autotrader in the chicago area shows 34 auto's vs. 9 manuals. Not that the used market is a true reflection of original sales data, but this would mean 25% 6MT's which seems realistic to me. 10-15% sounds more accurate for the sedans which would have a larger family audience and fewer enthusiasts who want the good life in a 6MT.

I tracked 6MT's on autotrader for 6 months (I still have the Excel sheet, wife thought I was nuts) to get a good feel for what the market was like when I was purchasing. If I had limited myself to Infiniti dealers only, the G with the options I wanted would have never come along. On the other hand, used luxury performance dealers had the one I wanted at least 4 times over those 6 months. I ended up purchasing from Autoshowcase of Carol Stream and couldn't be happier.

You're buying an '06 which is a smart move in terms of getting a G with all the improvements that came along. It's also going to be a young machine with hopefully less than 20k miles so you've got very little to worry about in terms of getting a solid car. I've heard Infiniti dealers say that the cost of CPO (certified pre-owned) isn't worth it because it adds too much to the selling price of the car. With that in mind, there is no advantage to buying used from an Infiniti lot. You've got warranty to fall back on whether it's an Infiniti dealer or not.

I have once heard that 15% of G35s were coupes and 15% were 6MTs, or something close to it. Nonetheless, I wouldn't call them "rare" per se.

hrmm they arent rare for they are still massed produced vehicles. But I guess you can say Nissan made more automatics than manuals.

I actually heard something like that too.. Less g35's were coupes and less were 6mt... and even less had Navi..

Guess my G35coupe 6mt with navi is pretty rare...

NOT>_<

but it is harder to find 6mt with navi

Rare, but not quite as rare as the elusive IP/graphite 6MT w/ Nav - I'm fairly certain the only IPs made with graphite interior were special order.
