Re: My 1st slips

Looks like you got better the more you did it. You can't just go out an run a 14.2 like the guys that test for the magazines.
My first trip to the strip, I was scared and really didn't know what I was doing and ran a 14.80. The rest of the night I was in the low 15's.

Best so far: 14.033 @ 99.74 mph 2.092 - 60ft.

Re: My 1st slips

I try to forget about some of my bad times, due to missed shifts and such. Those put me in the 15's. When I didn't screw up I was getting 14.3's, .5's, .7's and .8's. I think about half of my runs were 14.5's or better. I guess my first day at the drags(ever) was a good day for me.

my best: 14.27 @ 101 2.30 60ft. track was at 450' and I think it was in the low 70's

Yeah, that's where Moroso is at. I've never driven an automatic at the dragstrip. I might have to take my Pilot up there one Wednesday night.

Re: My 1st slips

I went to the same drag strip again tonight and lowered my times by 4/10s since adding the Z tube. Here are my slips from tonight:

Here is a breakdown of my runs:
(1) vs Z28 newer model on drags and skinnies, he took me from the get go and never looked back
(2) vs a Dodge Intrepid I think, this guy didn't really drive that well, so I was guessing it was his first time at the track
(3) vs THE ALMIGHTY SRT-4, i'm sorry but every owner (except 1) I know of just thinks there [censored] don't stink cause they have a fast car made by Dodge. Anyways, I don't know what mods he had done if any, but another 10 foot and he would have had me because he was gaining hard. I think if he would have had a better reaction time, then he would have definitely beaten me.
(4) vs another almighty SRT-4. I just missed getting a free test & tune day because my reaction time was .543. This guy must have had more mods then the first one because it wasn't even close.

Re: My 1st slips

not to be picky or anything....you can't really compare the professional at motor trend's time with your time...since they usually get brand new cars...as you can tell..with cars..they need a break in period...during that period..you will not be able to achieve optimal times......(i read about their 0-60 time...they dropped about 0.5 secs after 10K miles)...so ya...but i don't think those time are too bad...you will get the hang of it...good luck =)
