What do I need to replace?
What do I need to replace?
I have 125,000 + miles on my bone stock 2004 g35 coupe, and I've started to notice that when I drive the car down the inclined driveway in my front yard onto the street, it scrapes the front bumper. It never used to do this, so I am assuming that some suspension parts are worn out and they need replacement? Would it be the springs and/or shocks, or something else? I don't want to go to the stealership because I know they will just say I that I need to buy and have them install every single part replaced + new tires + new alignment...essentially everything except a brand new car.
Thanks
Thanks
from what i remember when i took a steering and suspension class is that worn springs cause sagging ride height and worn shocks cause bounce. so it could be
either...try doing a bounce test to see if it's your shocks...that's where you push down on each edge of your car to see if it bounces more than one or two
gyrations...but this test isn't very scientific and you need good judgment.
