Wanted: Pics of Painted wheels/lips

Considering painting my polished steel lips red to match the tail lights (or just a classic brake red). The face of my wheel is black w/ polished rivets and center cap. Trying to see if getting a glossy red would look cool/stupid/make the lips look smaller.

If anyone got pics of their painted stuff, especially lips, please post... or post some links. I've been trying to find some w/ not much luck. If I decide I love the pics, then my own pics this weekend of my new painted wheels.

IMHO, if you have wheels with lips, then no. It's just too much and it'll be cheesy.

Time Attacks have a thin pinstripe of red. "Less is more."

Yeah, the time attacks is where I started to think about doing something similar. Thing is the rest of my lip would have to be painted black. There is actually a nice groove on the outside of the lip (facing out) that could be painted red to basically match those wheels. Dunno

well I've PSed some pics, but it's just really hard to get realistic shadows and do a realistic paint finish on it, I'll dig some more to see if someone has done it

i've seen wheels like that before in person, and in my opinion, it doesn't look near as cool as the time attacks. IT looks a little cheesy in my opinion, like, its way too much red on there if that makes sense. Just looks a little too bold to look 'cool.' Sorry, hard to explain, but i'd say don't do it if i were you.
BUT, i'm not you, only you are you...so do what you want, its your car.
(excuse the philosophical'ness of myself just there...)

haha, nah man it's cool. I want opinions anyway. I'm split on the decision for that same reason you mentioned.

You think my ride looks cheesy? Funny...I get people EVERY SINGLE DAY, both male and female telling me that it looks sick as hell.

Do you?

Fvck it...can't please everyone. As long as I like it, that's all that matters
