Im in the process of a manual swap, I have already successfully done this swap but this time i have a full parts car. Last time i had a manual ECU and sent it out to get the nats deleted so i could start it with the original key. Since i have a full parts car with a key could I swap over the manual ECU and the steering column with the ignition and be able to start it up without sending the ECU out to get the nats deleted and buying the tune license

 

As long as the ECU, BCM, Ignition and key match then yeah you should be fine. But with the performance gains and fun factor you gain from an Uprev tune why not just disable NATS that way? It would be way less work and if you're doing a tune it doesn't cost any extra to disable NATS. I can send you an Uprev cable so you can flash it yourself, don't have to send the ECU off.

 

Im doing this swap for someone else, They're not interested in a tune or buying an uprev license because the ECU Doesn't have one already. They just want the swap done and thanks for offering to send the cable but I have a macbook and if i can do the swap without having to get the uprev license and nats deleted Im going to try. You dont think it will require any reprogramming right? just switch steering column w/ ignition, bcm and ecu and it should start?

 

As long as all the matching NATS stuff is swapped over then yes it should
