TPMS reset

Ok just picked up an 06 G35 coupe yesterday has all the options except the nav system. My only question is the Tire Pressure system has come on and I was wondering how to turn it off. I put air in all the tires and i know on my 525 bmw i can reset the system using the idrive system. I was wondering how to do this on the infiniti? Thanks

Couple of possibilities:
(1) You have aftermarket rims without TPMS, so the light will always be on unless you get a set of sensors and have them programmed by an Infiniti dealership.

(2) You have stock rims that someone took TPMS out of - if the valve stem on the stock rims is rubber, there is no TPMS. If it's all silver, it's probably TPMS.

(3) You have rims that do have TPMS, but the TPMS hasn't been programmed to your car. In this case, you can swing by an Infiniti dealership and have them programmed.

Unfortunately the only way to "reset" the TPMS per se is to turn off the car. However, once you drive a bit, the light will flash and then stay solid. Some people have put a piece of tape over the light, or just learned to live with it.

I'd personally pick up a set of TPMS if you don't have them. They often go for ~$100 for a used set here on the boards. To me, the cost of buying a used set of TPMS, paying for another mounting/balancing and TPMS programming is worth it to get rid of the light and have TPMS working.

Or 4th possibility: TPMS is malfunctioning/bad sensor like on my wife's. The system is crap especially for those of us without nav. The nav displays which wheel is low or faulting.

I have M-45 sport rims on my sedan and the TPM work around town just fine. However, if you get on the highway and cruise for more than 45 min, they come on and stay on.

Hopefully it's not too much to fix... If you need a whole new one from the dealer it's pretty expensive.

^ Good point, should be covered under bumper-to-bumper warranty.
