The spacers and tunes don't give a whole lot of PEAK power, but the area under the curve is what increases, and ultimately what matters.
I'd suggest you get a baseline dyno done on your car; every car is different, and you'll want a comparison of before and after.
e.g. here is my baseline.
I had it done, so after modding, I KNOW what exactly improved.
note the ~40 hp jump from 5900 to 6200 rpms

my g had big cams from tomei, tomei headers, valve springs and retainers, test pipes, hks exhaust, a plenum spacer, the uprev tune, cold air intake and i made 305 hp. i have an automatic and i have really tall gears so if you do the same setup with your shorter gears you should feel pleased but it was very costly and it took some time. but i am pleased with what i did but if i had the chance to do it over i would have gotten a turbo.

I don't have a baseline dyno but I made 266 whp on a dynojet with:
2006 6MT
intake
MREV2 and 5/16" iso thermal spacer
fast intentions high flow cats
fast intentions 2.5" dual cat back exhaust
custom Osiris dyno tune
The tuner said that headers wouldn't help much to increase hp but would stop it from dropping at higher rpms.
It was torquey, fun, and sounded awesome. Then I bought a TT kit

i still have the same set up but i did take the plenum spacer out one day and i havent put it back in plus i think i am going to put some 4.00 gears or 4.08 gears and maybe a 100 shot of nitrous. i also want to put the cats back in because the test pipes dont give me enough back pressure but i got rid of my cats when i got the test pipes.plus with the hks headers and test pipes my car is the loudest g35 or 350 z and it is starting to get old, it sounds great racing but not when you are traveling. as far as my dyno run i think my baseline was 240 hp and after a couple hours of tuning i got it to 305 hp. with the 264 cams all of my power comes around 4000 to 7800 rpm but it is the most unique sound i have heard from a vq i get a lot of looks when you are next to someone.

Yeah you should give the 4.08 a try. I got them with the Quaife LSD and it feels very nice.
I'm guessing you probably mean it is reducing the scavenging effect and not really talking about back pressure. The latter is never a good thing.
Wow you rev all the way up to 7800rpm and still make power? Do you have a dynograph with AFR by any chance? Like you said the sound is pretty unique. I have the Tomei V2 headers and 264 cams, but I have the motordyne exhaust and it sounds very muscular.
