I'm a big fan of Camaro's myself, actually thought about getting an SS for a while, but I have never owned an american car and didn't feel like it at the time. Those things are powerful though.

 

My father has a 69 camaro ss, love that car.... almost as much as the G..... ALMOST... i think u should have taken him at higher speeds actually, like low speeds he should have smoked u.... next time tell him to race the "twisties" as the call it. I am almost positive i would smoke a regular camaro or mustang (regular meaning not the V6's i mean the V8's but not modded). My friend has an 05 GT with an intake Exaust and chip, im pretty confident that i will smoke him from a roll 40+ mph. The car sounds sooo beastly its a borla exaust... nutzzzz.....

 

One of the faster cars I ever rode in was a friend's 1969 Camaro SS. Had a 1970 396-375HP L78, hypo'd out with factory GM goodies to about 425HP. Muncie M-21 Four Speed. Grabbing 2nd and 3rd with gusto was a religious experience! Actually handled pretty good as I recall.
