does running the AC burn up alot of fuel in the G?

just curious..i was wondering if i should keep my windows down or just leave the air..the heat and the gas is both going up..and i read that with modern cars..having the air on doesnt burn up much gas..

any thoughts?..

under 50 mph or so id go w/ windows down, anything faster than that the drag added by keeping the windows down hurts gas mileage, this is not proven really but thats just the rule i go with.

Do you really think you're going to save much while you're sweating in your car?

The myth busters test proved that it wasn't a big difference... The car that ran around the track with the windows down lasted 7 miles longer than the car that used AC the whole time.

so it does burn up more gas just not enough to even worry about (well thats until gas is $8 a gallon )

On the freeway you can hardly tell the difference with the air on as far as mpg, however on the street the loss is much more apparent. Starting and stopping with the air on takes more power because the car makes less power. I got awesome gas mileage on the way to vegas with the air on...

city driving keep windows down, unless ur burning hot then go with ac :P but on freeway with ac on u will burn about 1 mpg. i wouldnt mind loosing 1mpg for being really comfortable

u bought a G35...a LUXURY car, if its hot out then drive with the a/c on. Or just dont go out to lunch one time during the week and then theres the xtra money u woulda spent on the gas. cmon threads like this are rediculous. if you cant make the observation yourself about the gas mileage being worse then u shouldnt have to ask.

very minor difference. use the econo mode so the compressor runs slightly less.

Is it better to run in Econo mode or recycled air for the compressor?
