Do you see your RPMs rise when you turn on the A/C? Lower when you turn it off?

Locate the A/C lines, in particular the little caps for the freon lines. Turn it counterclockwise and see if there is any hissing coming out of it.

Either something electronically is wrong not allowing the A/C to kick on or your freon is low/empty?

Final piece of advise, go to a different dealership, PLEASE.

tran03, i don't think you read his post correctly.

There has always been a problem with hot air blowing with the A/C off. I believe by the battery compartment there are areas that need to be sealed with silicone to help eliminate the hot air blowing...

Check out this old thread

This one as well

I don't know if this is your problem.....but it does help to keep the cabin temp cooler with the spots sealed properly.

also check the plug that is in the panel beneath the steering wheel and above the pedals. the plug is for the ac control and if it is unplugged or a wire broken then it will blow hot unless you have the temp set to 60

Everytime I press the recirc button on my 04 G, it automatically turns the AC on. I find it impossible no matter what button combination I use to get recirc and AC off at the same time. you press AC off, the thing trips to fresh air. You press the recirc button, the AC light comes back on.

On my accord I regulate temperature all the time by turning the AC on and off while letting the fans run recirculated air, but I can't seem to do that in my G.

Am I missing something?

Ofcourse you miss BMW service...you were probably in there a lot. LOL!!!! j/K

I have experienced your problem in the past. I could only get the AC to blow cold at 60 degrees, any other temp it would blow hot air. Stealership fixed it all under warranty.

Nope, you're not missing anything. As designed.
