Went to the dealer yesterday... Test drove the G37...

I took my car in for service and I mentioned that my lease is up in Nov. I wanted to know what my options are for turning it in or buying it out at the end of the lease. All of a sudden I was swarmed by a bunch of hungry hyenas. Next thing I knew, I was driving the new G37.

First off, I've never really been interested in the G37 because the lines of the new coupe just don't do it for me. But, I test drove the 6-speed and honestly it feels like a completely different car. It definitely is a quieter ride however I felt very disconnected with the road. I think that Infiniti focused more on luxury than on the enthusiasts sports car. It felt very heavy (as if the G35 isn't heavy enough) and it didn't seem to handle as well as the G35. The only good thing was that I could feel a slight power increase with the new 3.7L. Long story short, the G35 continues to keep me very happy!

Interesting impressions. I test drove a G37 6MT and it felt fast as hell and even more balanced than the 35.

I just wasn't interested in the $42,000 sticker they had on it.

I was gonna get a G37. But the more i look at the body lines of the G37 it just keeps making the G35 coupes look more and more sexier. so in the end i went with the G35coupe and it cost me a lot less $$$$$$ . But i still like the G37 interior. Hmmm can i put a g37 interior in my G35 coupe?

Do ya wanta G37....?

Prior to the G37 introduction I really liked the concept drawing and would be
driving one today had Nissan followed thru with the drawings....but no! Nissan
dropped the ball on this one and I can guarantee others feel like I do!

The guy I got my car from was selling it because he had the G37S arriving the following week. He drove it to my work and let me take a look, such a sexy car.

Congratulations man =)

I want the G37 sedan more than the coupe, assuming the price stays the same (and hopefully the weight doesn't increase a whole lot).

really? have you compared the concept and the real thing side by side? you tell me, except for the panoramic roof, how the concept differs from the production model. yes, the front bumper is different on the sport, but the base bumper is almost identical to the concept. go ahead and tell me exactly what lines were changed from concept to production on the body.

here. show me where the big differences are.

concept model

concept sketch

production photo

production base coupe

the concept looks like a lowered g37 with light mods...light mods that some guys have come pretty close to achieving that are posted on myg37.

edit: here is the rear of the concept. compare it to the production rear that everyone complains about and tell me what they changed beside the inset exhaust.

the proportions are completely different from concept to production. all of the lines and curves on the concept are exaggerated giving it the aggressive feel, that the g37 lacks. tell me where they are similar, because proportionally they are two different cars.

I agree.... well put. You can definitly tell a difference in the lines of the production car vs the concept images in those photos.

A guy at my job has a G37 and he parks near me sometimes... I just look at his car and it looks very bland to me in comparison to my G. I try to look at it in an ubiased fashion, but I just don't think the G37 looks at all aggressive in comparison to the G35 Coupe.
