Scraped flex material on Y-pipe (pix*)
I scraped my car today, and when I looked under the car I saw that I had scraped up the flex material on the passenger part of the y-pipe. I'm not very knowledgable with this part of the car, but what are the reprocussions of the damage, and how will it ultimately affect the car?

I can't really tell from the pic but it looks like you just scraped a bit of the braided jacket... I don't think it's a problem but if you want peace of mind you could reinforce that area with a small metal hose clamp maybe over a duct tape strip... so if you scrape again the hose clamp will protect the braided jacket from fraying any further.
I call them hose clamps but I'll post a pic in case I'm using the wrong name...

Well I STRONGLY suggest not using duct tape. It will completely melt with that kind of heat. The flex material is only there to protect the flex pipe inside. It wont affect your car at all by it being frayed. It really shouldnt be a problem the fix would only be for piece of mind.

Re: Scraped flex material on Y-pipe (pix*)
I've got a good fix for this-just get a Borla Exhaust. This part comes off the car when you install your new cat-back exhaust . Mine was scraped just like your picture when I took mine off. I think this is the lowest part of the car so it's most susceptible to scaping when going over speed bumps etc. .
