Showroom G35coupe Buy or Wait

Okay..
Stupid Colorado Infiniti dealership sucks... They lied to me about the 2000 bux off MSRP. It was too good to be true. They told me it was on 6spd Sedan not Coupe. Such a BS! I specifically told them it was 2dr not 4dr.
Anyways, they told me they had nothing for this month or next month or even later month (such a bs) They told me the placement for 6spd order has already full until August (maybe true). So I saw one G35coupe with bright silver and graphite interior with 14 miles and NO ARMREST. I told the salesman about the armrest he seemed very surprised. Well anyways they got this BS coupe for Autoshow later month and I will be hopefully getting it around 24th of March.

The thing about this coupe is:
1) people are going to touch my baby all over even before I can mess up with her!
2) now I have to pay 37000 with basically everything including Nav. 5000 bux more than I was expecting.
3) PEOPLE ARE GOING TO TOUCH MY CAR!

Well that's the biggest concern.. I will be so pissed off people mess up with my car. Also my salesman seems like young.. well he is young maybe mid 20s. I told him he better not redline it but I am not sure if he will. I really can't trust any poeple from Infiniti. because they tried to give my 95 325i for 5000 bux.. and other things.

Is there anyway I can check if the car has been hard driven before break in?

I know some of member has showroom car. How is it?

Do you guy think I should wait forever for my G35 or just jump on it get this baby? I like it everything but... only the fact poeple are touching all over and there are going to be few miles up. Around 30 miles probably. Should I ask for discount (probably won't work but worth the try) since it was showroom car? Well feel free to throw some opinions.
Thanks!

hmm...tough decision, if its the color you want and same options that you want, i would go ahead and haggle with them, try to get $500 off msrp, or tell them to throw in some extras like cargo net, tint maybe??
well good luck in your decision...its worth a try to haggle though, if worse comes to worse, you just order one and it will be here in 4 months

Re: Showroom G35coupe Buy or Wait

My biggest concern with the show is the scratches from people sitting in it, i.e. pagers, cellphones and people walking by it, i.e. rings, purses, etc. I might insist on a full in/out detail then chat with the detail guy and ask if he saw anything during the detail. If you're concerned with pre-breakin abuse, I'd pass altogether but don't think it's 'that' much of an issue as long as there isn't too many miles, (less than 50-75 ??). If price is the top issue, as RR said, go for a considerable discount off MSRP, I'd think 1k as prices are starting to soften off MSRP. You'll never be able to tell what type of driving was done. Bottom line, a large discount, a detail with access to the detailer and a bunch of free extras which should've already been included for the show. It's your money and peace of mind. Good luck. ...dean

P.S. protect yourself by getting all of your requirements/conditions in writing on the sales contract. ..d

I would try to find another car or order one. I can't imagine feeling comfortable with hundreds of people getting in, getting out, playing with everything, scratching the exterior and paying full price? Screw that! I wouldn't take it even if they took off a thousand bucks. I'd rather have the peace of mind that as few people possible has messed with my ride.

The worst part of this scenerio is... there is only TWO infinity dealership in whole entire colorado. This salesman says "I am not going to give you discount because everyone is sought after this car blah blah" Anyways bunch of excuses for him so he can keep those extra commision.

He better give me discount and bunch of extra stuff or I will just drop the whole deal off the water. Plus this dealership is only dealership in denver I don't have much choice. If things gets better, I might just drop this terrible infiniti dealership and just get another car. Really frustrates me.

If it's the only Infiniti dealership around, unfortunately I'd have to seriously reconsider getting an Infiniti of any kind with that kind of attitude from the dealer. I think it's a good car and a good brand, but you need a good dealer to round out the experience. Otherwise you'll wind up cursing the car and the brand along with the dealer.

Re: Showroom G35coupe Buy or Wait

if i were you i would just order one and take the pain from waiting. it's possibly true that you might have to wait til august because i ordered late january and i have to wait until june or july... the latest is august. the one reason why i don't mind waiting is because if i got a showroom car, i would worry about if they set my mileage back and is actually higher than it shows. i mean i could have the same problem with the car that i have ordered, but i trust the dealership that i went to.

Re: Showroom G35coupe Buy or Wait

Order it man. I got a showroom car about a month ago. I love it to death it's the best car I have ever owned. The problem is that the day after I found three major defects with the car. 1. I bought in the evening and did notice in the badly lit car lot that the car had been "bumped" either in transport or in the process of being moved around. The this left a small hole from the other car's license plate bolt in the bottom of the plastic bumper cover as well as a crack. 2. The next day I also found a "spot" of some unknown substance in the headliner which will require cleaning. 3. The next day I also found a scratch about the size of a dime on the front drivers side rim. It went all the way throught the powder coat to the metal. The dealership bodyshop guy told me they will have to replace the rim and the whole rear bumper cover. This has required them to order parts from japan on an already scarce vehicle the parts still haven't arrived. According to the sales poeple the car only sat out front in the show area for about two days so I don't know how it got damaged so fast but it hurts to see my new beautiful Red Coupe getting repairs already. Plus my friend told me they rarley do as good a job on the pant at a bodyshop than they do at the factory. If the don't I'll be making them do it again and be without my car for another 2 weeks. Go for the ordered car, plus if you order it and your State requires front plates like here in Cali you can tell them not to mount it before they drill and scratch the front bumper to mount plates. Good luck!
