Stealerships!!!
Stealerships!!!
SOO my car is getting a 60k service right now and i get a phone call from the guy at the stealship and hes trying to tell me my belts are starting to crack
Now i have read hundred and hundreds of threads on this forum and not once have i read one about someones belts starting to crack.
Correct me if im wrong this doesnt typically happen does it?? and if so is there a way i can view and inspect these belts myself??? they wanna charge 200 dollars to change my driveline belt.
any help would be appreciated !!

Change the belts if they are cracking... i say go to your dealer and take a look at them... If they do need to be replaced.. Do not have it done at the dealer... you can get it done somewhere else cheaper
$200 to replace your drive belts?! It takes < 10 minutes to replace your drive belts. And you can pick up a drive belt at your local parts store for < $20.00 for a standard belt...
$200 is a complete rip off.

same deal happend with me. they wanted the same price i just told them all have it done later went back that same day and hought the belts from them i think it was like 40 or 50 for both drive belts. it only takes about a half hour to change way worth it doing it your self not to metion its fun. good luck though
if thats the case is it possible to change the belt out myself... is there anything major that needs to be removed in order to do this
or is there a DIY on the board somewhere?

I've read recently that 60K is about right for replacing belts on this car.
Good suggestions already from the other posts. I will add my $.02 and say that I like to use factory parts because I've noticed poor quality from some makes sold by the likes of Kragen, etc. Contact user tony@riversideinfiniti to get a good price on factory belts.
