Well now you know you can go a bit longer Usually cars give you at least 50 miles when the gas light comes on...

I normally get around 375mi per tank with 60hwy/40city. My best was a 90%highway trip, I got 480 miles (26.67mpg) on that tank.

I just did 340 miles to the tank 60/40 mix of city/hwy driving, smashing about half the time going on the hwy onramp, with some heavy 20" work and neg camber

Yep, the gas tank is actually 20 gallons. Our G is a little more "advanced" than the cars back in the day which would have <1 gallon when the gas light came on

I mean after all, if they provide free roadside assistance, they don't want thousands of G owners who have run out of fuel calling them all day now do they?

Correct, 20 gallon capacity. A full list of specifications can be found here:
http://www.infinitihelp.com/Infiniti...ifications.htm

It's not a bad idea to add fuel when the light comes on. Running her low will just punish your fuel pump. I end up driving for a day or so when the add-fuel light illuminates. That said, the most fuel I've ever been able to add is just over 18.5 gallons.

Lately, I've been adding $40-$50 dollars worth of fuel at $4.85 a gallon at fill-up. That in addition to chilling out a bit on the throttle has resulted in a net increase of 1.5 miles per gallon improvement. I'm averaging approx 21.4mpg with a 60/40 mix of hwy/city driving. The highway drives during rush hour both ways.

Keep in mind, I still nail it probably once or twice a day during normal driving. During the commute, I tend to take it pretty easy these days.

I got 319 from mine when I made a trip from DC to Atlanta. HWY miles of course. I only had to fill up 1 1/2 times.

with the rise of gas prices i decided the 14.7mpg i was getting was just not going to cut it..lol.

1. I took my spare tire out along with bunch of junk i had in the trunk..so im guessing nearly 50 pounds off? and yes...i took the spare tire out...why? i hardly ever drive too far from my house so if anything did happen i could just have my friend pick my spare up and bring it to me lol.

2. Used 1 1/2 bottles of Techron fuel system cleaner.

3. Checked tire pressures. (rear left was really under pressure)

4. Put the jwt popcharger in cause my stock filter was disgustingly dirty.

5. Poured a cap full of pure 100% ethanol approx 2tblsp. (if you do decide to try this, its at your own risk, too much pure ethanol is bad.) (i only added ethanol for about 5 weeks, and thats 2tblsp per full tank.)

6. Alignment.

End result.

19.8 mpg city....5.1mpg increase.

car seems much more responsive and fast now.
