Ben - send me an email please to clinthammer@gmail.com

Please include the Nissan parts you are looking for as I know you are looking for quite a few right? e.g. clear corners, floor mats, double din kit etc. If you have the part number that would help or I just need the VIN number. I can email my contact in Nissan to find the price.

BTW I finally got my OEM car cover (from Japan cost me AED 1300) and will get these installed next service: http://www.intensepower.com/jdmsphoset35.html. Got those from Nissan Japan also

If you want to order the JWT pop charger + z tube let me know. I bought my pop charger direct from JWT from Ben Pila. Z tube (z tube part number 16576-CD000) I got off mynismo.com but you can get it from Nissan as well.

oh and btw regarding oiling the pop charger filter. I would recommend you buy two pop charger filters. When you remove one to wash it, dry it and re oil it - this will take one day. I usually wash one and install the spare one.

Also it comes in handy in case a filter gets damaged.

I use the K&N oil filter recharger kit which works like a charm.

Clint, you are a lot of help, thanks. I emailed you and will send you the VIN tomorrow as I dont have it with me now.

Those are the parts exactly what I need, except for the DD conversion kit, Yoshi's garage now has the AC controller with Dual button, which would be nice as I am not very good at soldering.

Thanks a lot again, cheers,

Ben

Guys, couple of new questions.

The light switch is on AUTO, and I park in a garage at night and during day (sometimes), so it means twice a day when I stop, the lights are on. I get out, lock the car, and the lights stay on for 1 minute each time.

I just wonder, what is common practice here? Should I always turn them off and turn them on when I drive? There are not many tunnels here that I could take advantage of AUTO otherwise. Or can I just leave it on auto, and it wont have an effect on battery life?

Also, the weather here is hot 24 hours a day which means I always use AC. How soon should I start the AC after I cold-started the car in the morning? What I do now is always stop the AC when I reach the garage, and usually by the time I park it to its place, the fans already stop spinning. In the morning, I start the car, wait about a minute while driving, and then turn it on. Am I paranoid, or its safer this way?

And the last thing, every morning when I start the car, after I roll out of the garage and accelerate out to the street, I heard a spring-release sound. I would image its the thermostat closing up as the engine is cold. Could that be? Shouldnt the thermostat close up automatically as soon as the engine cools back down overnight?

Thanks

Ben

p.s. I am ordering the floormats, clear corners and trunk net here in Dubai locally, thanks Clint for the contact.

Just so you know, the AC comes on after a 1-2 second delay of the engine starting. I don't think you can hurt the compressor by letting it come on with the car. There are many threads here talking about turning off the AC before you turn off the car. That seems to be the agreed upon solution. This is to mitigate the mildew smell that can occur if water gets left in the evaporator.

The spring-release is the ABS soleniod check the car does every time the engine starts and you shift out of 1st gear.

Great thanks. So I seem to be doing okay with my AC.

What about the light in AUTO mode? What's best practice there?

Thanks

Ben

IF noone has mentioned it, I will. I would check to make sure yours isn't OC-ing. There is a TSB here in the states for the OC problem.

I have not the slightest idea of what you are referring to

Another question came to my mind.

When I got the car from the dealer, it had this fantastic smell, and it was something applied to the leather. I can still feel it, but its going away.

What should I use to maintain the leather and interior in general, and add some great smell to the car? It was very nice getting in every morning, and feeling right in heaven. It was kind of a vanilla like smell, but not completely.

Thanks

Ben

It sounds like my dealership also uses the same thing. I've always wondered what it was too. I use Lexol Leather cleaner to clean my leather seats. There's no point in using the Lexol conditioner since it won't be absorbed by this kind of covered leather. The Lexol stuff doesn't smell near as nice

I believe I have seen that yesterday at Yellow Hat Japan (store name), but it didnt smell anything like it.

Maybe when I apply it, the smell will start to develop, just when its concentrated you cannot feel it?

I checked it out at ACE today, and it doesnt smell anything like it. I will swing by the service center and ask the guys what they use for their detailing. I hope its not a mysterious recipe Mr. Nissan blended a while back in Japan and keeping it a secret so we all pay for their detailing....
