Installed Fujita intake now SES!! :(

Hey guys new to this site. I just installed a fujita short ram intake on my buddies 06 G35 coupe. Install was a breeze! Now the SES light is on!!!! :vhot
I disconnected the battery for about an hour then we drove around all night bar hopin and the light came back on after about 40 miles. I dont know alot about these cars but I figured it was the Mass Air Flow sensor causing the light. How can I get this to turn off!!!???

Thanks,
Mike

Do the gas petal ECU reset and see what happens.
Do a search for the instructions.

Ok took the car up to autozone and had them chack the code and then clear it. The code that came up was a p0171. bank 1 too lean. What is wrong with this car? Any suggestions on what to check? It did this right after installin the fujita intake, so my guess is the MAF sensor thinks its getting too much air. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

you reconnected the vacuum tube right?

if you bump the mafs at all it prolly needs reset, but if its running lean then the ecu should adjust for that after a while.

vaccum tube is connected. I was goin to spray the intake with soapy water to see if I had any leaks in the intake and then tighten as needed as well.

8 hours?! To reset the ECU?! Try ~60 seconds.

id reccomend more along the lines of TB cleaner spray than soapy water......if its a vacuum leak than it will suck the soapy water in....not bubble like a tire...

but if u drove 40 mins and it came back and it wasnt there in the first place...id just redo the steps from the install and checking to make sure its all tight and secure, check the lip around the TB/intake make sure its seated properly.......

If you turn the car on (maybe to listen to the radio) while anything in the engine is disconnected, it will throw a code. It will turn off in a day or two

Never had SES light w/ the fujita... Did you touch the MAF sensor with your greasy hands? Try cleaning that up a bit.
