I have an RX8 and a G35. But if the driver of the G sux, the 8 will win.

i personally think it would be really close...rx8 manual 0-60 is supposed to be around 6...where g35 auto is around...6.2...but then most rx8 drivers cannot launch their cars like professionals and since they have really really weak low end torque...they lost the advantage..so...i think it should be really close

The RX8 doesnt really have a chance . I raced one Saturday .The guy ran 10.23 in a 1/8 mile and I know a stock G and the Z can run close to 9.0 to 9.3 . He said he launched at 3,500 rpm and said he just smoked them tires up .You would have to be perfect at launching it and have perfect reaction time to make it to the line before the G or Z caught and passed him

you should be able to beat the rx8 fairly easy. i always beat my friends.they are overrated.

 

When it comes to 0 to 60 times and the 1/4 times I always check out consumer reports because they launch there cars as most of us do. They tested a RX8 Manual and it was clocked at 7.3 seconds for the 0 to 60. They didn't do a test run with the G35 coupe but they did one for the sedan (with the Automatic) and they had it at 6.8 seconds. I think the coupe should be able to do it out 6.4 or 6.5

the 6MT coupe does 0-60 in 5.5, AT without launching may be 5.8 AT WORST...with launchin u should be able to get that same 5.5, maybe 5.6.

as for 1/8th mile...my bone stock AT ran it in 9.5 @ 75+mph WITHOUT launching...
on the same night a 6MT 350z with intake was running upper 9.2s and low 9.3s and he was launching really well.

I don't see how you get those numbers for the 5AT. There is another user who has a 5AT with a Z-Tube and Popcharger he's been clocked at 6.1 to 60.

Maybe downhill I could achieve those numbers.

 

i agree....i dun think g35 AT AT WORST at 5.8...i mean...come on guys...

 

consumer report doens't really do a car justice since they never launch the car at 40000RPM like you should in a RX8..too much advantage to the g35 since it has a lot nicer low end torque

 

I think the best launh in the RX is to drop the clutch at 7k RPM. I never tried it on mine, but it just needs to flood one more time to achieve lemon status. My MT G should kick the snot out of the RX on a street start. RX almost has a turbo lag feeling at low RPMs.
