What gas octane do you use?

Wait a minute.....

$1.62 X 3.785 (liters per gallon) = $6.13 a gallon
I'll stick with 91 @ $4.19 a gallon at Shell.

Just put premium in it and be done with it. You guys think way too much about things that don't matter. 91 vs 93? You won't notice the difference. A dyno may, but you wont.

Some of the comments here make me weep for humanity. Not filling up because you want to keep your car light? A whole tank is about 60 lbs, in a 4000 lb car, it won't matter. Not filling up to save money? You are going to burn the same amount of gas regardless of when you put it in. All you are doing is fooling yourself into thinking you are spending less because you a spending less per visit, but visiting more.

I'm pretty sure the difference in weight makes a HUGE difference in performance. Formula One cars tend to run laps that are 3-4 seconds quicker (depending on the course) when they go with a light fuel load. And, as everyone knows, our cars run exactly like a modern Formula One car does.

Is it bad for the car to switch between 92 and 93? There's only one station where I live that provides 93, but it's always the most expensive gas station. I found 92 yesterday for 80 cents cheaper than said gas station and had to fill up.

It's not really a big deal, as stated before the oem used 91 as the definition of "premium" so anything more isn't really making a difference. just stick with the 92 and you'll be fine.

Shell 91 octane is all I use, however the 76 down the road has 100 octane for roughly 7$/gallon. Might need to try that sometime.

93+ only.... rutters when i have a good amount of rewards(usually ~.80 off per gallon), then shell in between.... and a little bit of Torco additive every once in a while to clean her out..... 97 octane with a full tank, around 104 with 5 gallons of fuel..... and the royal purple max clean with each oil change if i remember

a full tank of gas is 160pounds.... 8lb/gallon.... thats over a tenth of a second at the strip

You realize high octane actually is worse for your car right? You are wasting money for no damn reason.

what do you mean by worse? im assuming mpg... i could care less about mpg.... as long as its unleaded, it wont hurt these engines
