so i had the g for a week and then....

a small nut fell on my rear windshield today and compeltely shattered the rear window.

anyone know how much i'm looking at to repair this? i dont know if i want to deal with insurance a week after i got this car. should this have even shattered from a small nut 15 feet up?

.....this happened 5 minutes after i washed my car and one day before the branches with the nuts are being torn down. what kind of luck is that?

thanks for any help,

cory

rear glass is more than $200, my mustang rear glass was $500 to replace. i would guess it will run around $600 to $850.

That's just one more reason not to park under trees.

Check the autoglass shops. You can get multiple quotes on-line in a matter of minutes, and they'll bring the glass to you and replace it in your driveway. Much cheaper (and faster) than going to a dealer.

I remember seeing a mythbusters about it, the back windsheild is weaker and they broke it with a BB gun, but they did it with an 86 corolla or something.

I thought it would be stronger nowadays

if its a bolt's nut its believable since i know a few people that had similar incidents. If its a ****en nut off a tree that a squirrel attacks then...wtf

it probably was a large branch or soemthing that broke off.. do you not see any signs of something on the ground that could have hit besides a nut??
