Re: Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

for me, $ wasn't issue.

i ordered my 6mtC with sunroof and trunk mat. got splash guards at dealer.

i'm fine with stock stereo, homelink? my garage door opener does the trick. auto on auto off...

i am happy with my choice

04 6mtC, DG - possibly most babied G on the board.

Up to you. If you decide to take your dash all apart to replace the deck, the first time you do it'll take some time, between 2 and 5 hours, depending on your comfort level. Afterwards, it can be done in less than 45 minutes. Your still going to need to get the conversion kit if you have someone else do the install. This isn't something you have to do right away.

The factory system in the G35 has good lows and bass, but the highs are poor quality or seem like they get clipped out. Replacing the speakers fixes the sound quality issue and this may be all you really need unless you want something that the factory unit doesn't offer such as Nav, Mp3, HD Radio, or DVD playback.

I was thinkin about gettin 2 JL audio 10'' subs in the back and switch out all the speakers to infinity. But I've neva done sound systems before so how much would that cost?

Why don't you look around for a USED 2003 Coupe with Premium and Nav. You might be able to find one for 30K. Look on ebay and autotrader.com and edmunds.com for starters. That way you don't have to worry about whether to get this or that option because of the price and the original new car warranty is still in effect.

I prefer puttin the original miles on the car myself. Its hard 2 tell if the person that owned it b4 treated the car nicely :\

Plus a G35 can cost up to 31k w/ 10-20k miles on it in a 2003 model w/ jus premium. Why not buy 2004 w/ < 20 miles? *for same r lil more cuz of tax*

A good place to look for reference prices on car audio would be www.crutchfield.com. Skip the vehicle selector, it doesn't filter for the G35. I know a few people who use eBay to find prices and purchase products, but sometimes the equipment shipped from certain sellers are as is, without warranty.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I don't want to pay for all of the premium package things, but I want a sunroof. But I'd have to basically order one to get it with sunroof but no premium package.

Dual climate zone - sounds cool, but is a total pain in the *** in my wife's Tahoe. You have to adjust 2 ***** all the time, and my wife always has her side on 80 degrees - not a big fan.

Auto headlights - reminds me of a GM car. I don't want the damn car to tell me when the lights should be one. Am I that lazy?

The dimming mirrors is the only thing I do want, maybe I can do this aftermarket.

Anyhow, I'm cheap and want to save as much money as I can, considering all the money I've thrown at my current car. It's time to be more responsible and sink all my money into a boat.
