Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

I'm thinkin about purchasing a G35 Coupe w/ Leather and AT. Problem is my budget is around 30k. I can get a Coupe w/out the Premium package for 29-30 and the one with premium for 31-32. However if I end up not gettin the premium package, how would the car feel? like its luxury feelin and everything, is it worth losing all the things over the lil 2 grand? =\

Re: Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

i always get the highest end packages, whatever i buy...
the premium package comes with:
$2,250.00
Tinted-glass power sunroof
8-speaker Bose® premium audio system with AM/FM/cassette/6-CD autochanger
Dual-zone climate control with microfiltration
Auto on-off headlamps
Electrochromic auto dimming inside mirror
Homelink® Universal Transceiver

its not night and day, but if you want all those accessories its cool...
if youre gonna change out your sound system, i say dont get it!

Re: Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

How bad/good is the base sound system? I read its 160 watts? and how would u feel if ur car lacked

Homelink® Universal Transceiver
8-speaker Bose® premium audio system with AM/FM/cassette/6-CD autochanger
Dual-zone climate control with microfiltration
Auto on-off headlamps

??

*Pretty much I can live w/out any of the other items.. but those are the big things*

Sound system... that I would be upgrading while I'm in college. BUT if the BOSE is good enough then I prolly wouldn't need to be messin w/ the system It sounded pretty good at my 1st test drive this afternoon

THIS CAR IS F***IN AMAZING, way better than the Z
Edited by SlayerGTR on 05/08/04 02:09 PM.

Re: Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

- homelink is a must-have for me (my garage door, gate in gated community, brothers garage door)
- sound system is ok, not very impressed with it, but its cool with the 6-cd in dash
- dual-zone is cool (girls always want it either colder or hotter)
- auto on-off headlights is convenient, but it turns on by itself when i go thru underpasses for like 3 seconds and when i go in the garage, so its kinda annoying sometimes, but infiniti has a light warranty, they change the light bulbs for free, so i have no $ problems to worry about

As always. You're paying 30k for the car. What's another 2k for the complete package.

Re: Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

This car's technically my 17th bday present... but they don't want to pay over 30k... sooo i technically have no idea =\ How LOW do U think I can get the coupe for? invoice for it is $31,100 for premium, 29,500 for base. I guess I can live without the premium but it would just be nice having it.

Re: Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

Tinted-glass power sunroof -- Depends, if you live where its hot all year long (Florida, Hawaii, etc), you'll probably never open this except nights or during the day of winter.

8-speaker Bose -- Regular deck is 6-cd as well. Coming from a cheap aftermarket mp3 player and basic Infinity brand speakers in my Nissan I was disappointed in both regular and Bose in the G35.

Dual-zone climate control -- For me, the passenger vents are closed. Depends if you have someone with you often.

Auto on-off headlamps -- I can turn it on myself. Funny, I see people getting a 6MT so they can have 'complete control' in their car yet they use auto headlights.

Electrochromic auto dimming inside mirror -- I'd rather see red and blue lights and pull over than to keep driving looking at green hehe. No really, this is a nice feature, if you drive at night.

Homelink® Universal Transceiver -- I just went to Sears and got a Craftmans 3-button, 3 garage door opener for $39. You can get a generic brand single door opener for about $10.

As for NAV, I don't know about $2000. Probably would have been worth it if it had speech recognition and a touchscreen. For about $550 you can get yourself a Garmin iQue 3600 (its a color PDA and mp3 player as well) and take it from your vehicle to your friends or parents vehicle. Less than $5 will buy you a road map. Or heck, if you know where your going, you can use Mapquest.com or Yahoo Maps and print the directions for free.

Spend your money wisely. Don't blow your budget.

Re: Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

Thanks for the info Ventural, I guess i'll jus get a stock G35 Coupe, prolly not even get the Bose package since u said it pretty much sux with either system. I asked my friend and he said he'll help me w/ my sound system so I guess stock is better off for me *nice n cheap for such a great car ~ $29,100 invoice*

Re: Buying > G35 Coupe Suggestion/Help

If you plan on changing the stock deck, be sure to read about purchasing and installing the Double Din conversion kit in the Audio Forum on g35driver.com. As for changing out speakers with the stock system, there isn't much work involved, basically like any other car.

Since you haven't purchased your G35 yet read this too:
