When you test drive, what you see is what you get. I thought 6 MT needed more R & D. I miss MT sometimes, but when i read about some owners problems with MT i feel 5 AT was not a bad choice.

I have no problems with a smooth take off whatsoever.

Mt

Coming from a '01 Maxima 5MT with smooth and refined shifts I also noticed the notchiness and vibrations in my '04 G35 6MT. I was disturbed, but since all you guys feel the same thing, I now know it is normal with this car. And just like it has been said above, we feel more vibration due to it being RWD and direct link, but most of all because it is such a short shifter. And when I do feel too much vibration I take my hand off the **** and as long as the car don't shake, I'm happy. The performance, the looks and the exhaust sound by far exceeds all the bad sounds and feels. I love it.

I get more feedback from the car pulling out of first than I would like to. its not smooth like butter coming out of first for me and that is off of slow even takeoffs.

You just have to get use to it. Mine is a tad notchy 1-2 at times, but
shifts and engagements are seemless.

for a $40k luxury sports-car, I am just as disappointed as the original poster.

I along with other posters on this forum have been slammed for asking how to get more performance out of this gorgeous car. Only to be met with "THIS IS NOT A SPORTS CAR" or "YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT SOMETHING ELSE".

So now, that we have established that it is a luxury car, why are we having to deal with an unrefined sports car transmission???
HMMMMM.....hard to believe the reply was what it was. majority, if not everyone on this board does performance mods??? seems like you've been beaten down by an e-thug and took it a little too serious IMO cuz u sound really bitter.

After reading this thread i went out and drove around in my S and then in my 05 6mt. Yeah the 6mt is notchy, but it doesnt seem to vibrate as much as what people are saying.. Must have been fixed in 05? by the way my G has 1700 miles on it, so that may be the difference as well....
