Looking for a G Coupe, need advice

I'm fairly new here but I've been frequenting the site on a daily basis of late, trying to do some research.

I really wanted a 2006+ 6MT but I ran into a really good deal on a 2007 AT with NAV. Should I jump on the deal or wait impatiently for a PERFECT G to come my way? I'm sure this has been asked a million times but.... lol

Also can anybody tell me if the NAV package on the Coupe has a backup camera? I tried searching for a thread that listed the specific options for each package to no avail? Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

it doesnt to my knowledge and i would say im 99.9 percent sure, most people here will swear by the 6MT

Don't jump on a deal unless it's what you want. i waited and got exactly what i was looking for

Bro wait for the 6MT. Trust me man, you are going to be banging your head on the desk everyday wishing you went with the 6MT. Patience is the key, dont rush anything.

Sadly i made this mistake with my first car and thats how i learned

I dont think the NAV comes with a backup camera, but i dont know. I know that it can be added.

Well I left out a bunch of details initially but I guess I'll fill in the blanks. My girlfriend has an Acura lease with way too many miles. She drives about 21k miles a year now but only negotiated 12k miles in her lease. If she continues putting on this many miles she'll face a 8k+ penalty at the end of her lease. I currently have an old gas guzzler which needs replacing and we live 65 miles apart from each other. Although she doesn't openly admit it, she hates my ride! lol (actually good for me in this scenario) She suggested that she buy me a car of my choice so she can drive it for about 6-8 months, in order to reduce those lease penalties. After that I'll take the car and she'll be looking for her ideal ride, a Range or Cayenne. Now that I've explained my situation, it's in the best interest to find a car sooner than later to reduce the miles on her car. Although I want to hold out on the 6MT, she has a valid point of finding a car quickly. Not even to mention she's the one paying for it...

The car I found was a 2007 with Nav, Premium, 19'' wheels, 20k miles for $25,000. Obviously I can get the dealer to come off of the sticker price at least a little bit. Is this a good price? I'm just about to give up and go pick it up. hahaha

the 07 nav on g35 coupe does not come with backup cam.

if you want the 6MT, don't settle for the AT. you'll regret it. nothing wrong with the AT, but if you're concerned with finding a 6MT with nav, you can always get an aftermarket headunit with nav...not a big deal

I already researched that option, but it's just a matter of time. I need to find a good deal quickly before she's stuck paying excessive lease penalties anyways and gives up on this offer. lol

If you really want an MT, WAIT!! I cant remember how many threads here about people asking the same question, going with an AUTO only to regret it after a few months... theres nothing wrong with the AT but you know as well as I do, YOU want a MT and so that should answer your Q..

I wouldnt worry too much about Navi cuz the stock one in the g35 coupes arent that great, I have the stock navi and its mediocre at best... better off getting an aftermarket DD and putting that in the G along with the back up camera.

That's actually too low. Around here, they go for 28-29k, and thats the NON-negoitable prices. It was probably involved in an accident. I'm serious.

And if she is that rich that she's gonna buy a Range, then tell her to spend 1,000 on an old Civic. Seriously.

Wait for a 6MT, do not let your gf convince you. Also, aftermarket Nav's are expentionally better.

At that price I might as well spring for the 2008 G37 shouldn't I? I found a few nearby for 32-34k. I do like the older styling better but aren't the G37's a bit of an upgrade from the G35?

Yes, as far as speed they are better. Interior is also much nicer due to the large 8-inch Nav Screen. I also heard it has fantastic handling, but the steering is a little too artifical when driving hard, because it doesn't give you the feedback it should before it oversteers.

G35's will always win the looks contest IMO, but G37's can look DAMN good with a JP Lip and black or color matched headlights.
