I have an 04 coupe that developed a slight rattling sound at cold startup shortly after I bought it last November. Upon returning from Iraq this month I heard the same sound during a cold start and then the same sound although not so bad after every start. It last for maybe a second and then it is gone. The only Nissan dealership around Fort Polk says that they cant even look at it to tell me what is wrong. Another mechanic said it may be a valve or the timing chain tensioner and there is a TSB out for it. Anyone had the same problem or heard about the TSB?

 

Mine does that. I think it's just piston slap from a lack of lubrication. No worries.
