Thinking of buying a G35...educate me

Thinking of buying an 06 G35 Coupe (white) in April from Carmax in Florida. I use to work there and im very confident in their cars. I was originally set on purchasing an 07 BMW 3-Series but im not considering purchasing a G35. What should I look for? What are some problems? I plan on getting something with around 20k on the clock. Im going with white and going to paint the roof black, love that look. Educate me on the different specs on the G35 guys, thanks!

around 20k you're looking at 06+ Gs or very lightly driven older years.. the 06 6mt rev up motors have an oil consumption TSB but that's not really a big deal since the dealers swap your engines.. its a PITA though so if you find one that has tests being run or something I'd walk away.. idk what else to look for?

Check teh inner wear on the front tires.
Seat bottom cushion for "tear" there is a TSB on that.
Oil issue that was mentioned.
Get a superb model thats meticulously kept all records etc

Biggest problem is the Oil Consumption issue. It is only on 6MT 05-07, on some of them.

Basically, you either get a brand new engine for free, or you just have a normal engine with 20k on it. There pretty much aren't any other problems. There is pre-mature wear on some tires, but all you need to do to fix that is get an alignment.

G's are extremely reliable.

I just bought an 07 with 15K miles, Nav, Sport pack, Aero Pack, Prem Pack, Sat radio, 5AT for $24,700...I searched for 2 weeks on Ebay, Autotrader and Cars.com unitl I found what I wanted..there was an 06 in IL that had the same options with 28k miles on it and I got them down to $22690...then I had to decide what was more important as the price difference was about $1400 once I included shipping costs...I paid more for a year newer car with 13K less miles on it...that was worth the $1400 to me.

My recommendation is go with the 6sp. It will have everything you want. I bought an 06 in IP and could be happier. The only real disappointment is the Bluetooth connection is horrible. Don't plan on using it. Other than that its fast, sounds great and my kids can fit in the back seat!
