Me Too
I plan on doing the same. I hate OH winters, and I like it when my car is nice and warm to get into. Anyone have an answer to this question?

I am fairly certain guys that the best thing is to replace the alarm system with something that already has auto start like the Viper systems. I want this myself but haven't done enough research on the forums to understand it all yet. I know that the bypass is safe and that everyone says trying to get auto start with factory alarm to work is a pita if possible. I could be totally wrong and actually hope I am.

I had remote-start installed on my G. It works like a charm! You will need a module to bypass the factory alarm.
I have to warn you though that you will have to get used to it: you will still need to insert and turn the key and if you step on the brake before that it turns the engine off!

That's scary! Mine has a life-long warranty on installation and 2 year warranty on the parts.
Which brand and model did you have?

i like my intelligent key.. all i do just press the black button on the door and it's open.. don't have to insert key to start the car.. but i would love to put a remote for autostart and don't want to lose all that fun stuff on my OEM key..
