Buying Parts off of totaled cars

Getting parts off of totaled cars. Is it possible to call a collision center (or wherever cars go when totaled) and say hey, I want those 19" rims for my 18", I'll give you my 18" rims and 500 cash? Is there any possiblity they would accept?

That's something I'm interested in too, like a car that got totaled from a rear end.

The main 2 parts I'm looking for would be trading in OEM 18's for OEM 19's and 04 lights for 06 projectors and 06 tails. There's A LOT of places around here that have totaled cars, and some look shady but I don't even care.

you can pick up oem19's on here for really cheap. as far as the tails and headlights, you are better off buying them from a vendor on here....thats what i did.

I don't have the car yet, I'm gonna get one next summer, and I think I might go 2004 to save money and not deal with OC, but I'll still be putting as much money as possible into a down payment, so I'll basically have very little to spend on the car. I want OEM 19's, and I want them powdercoated black, so if I do that it's gonna be maybe 1,500(wheels + powder) if I buy the wheels off of someone on here, which is way out of my price range. And 525.00 is too much for projectors unfortantely.

I figure if I can get the wheels, headlights, and taillights off of some car that's gonna be scrapped anyway, it will be much, much cheaper. I plan on totally blacking my car out, like Black Rain(except mine's gonna be a coupe), and the rims will def. be the first step, and I wanna paint the headlights so I gotta wait for projectors so I can sell the old ones or trade them for someone who's parting out the car.

I'm a college student so money is a little tight, but I will def. have enough to afford the car. Thanks for the advice though.

well just take your time in finding what you want. there are people selling their g's all the time. you might even get lucky and get a 06 with the options you want for cheap. from experience, be patient on what you want to buy.

Hopefully. I'm probably gonna have about 12k on hand, and then pay off the rest. There are barely any G's in my area though, which is sweet for having a unique car, but sucks for purchasing one. I am gonna be extremely patient, and these forums help for some reason. There's a 05 with 50k black/black with 19's (Exactly what I want) going for 16.5k, but that's currently out of my price range and wrong time to buy the car, since I'm only home for summers and the insurance would kill me at the time. An 06 would be perfect because it still has warranty left. I can't wait
