Rev up / non rev up / GT ? huh???

Sorry guys for such a noobish question, but im a new G35 driver and ive been considering some more upgrades to it. through my reading of other threads ive seen these topics come up. can anyone enlighten me as to what they are?

mine is a 5at / triptronic 05 G35.

I have kinetix HFC and intake manifold with a injen cold air intake.

ive been considering getting FI for it, but im afraid I need to do alot more research before I jump into anything.

thankyou for your time guys.

Not sure if I understand your question but if its your thread title, non rev-ups were 03-04(?), rev-up's were an engine upgrade for 05-07. As for the GT, its how this car is marketed in Japan, as a Skyline 350GT.

As for F/I, most will recommend you read:

I've probably missed something but someone more informed than I will hopefully post it up.

Sorry, I think you misunderstand. I meant that since yours is an '05, your is a rev-up.

6MT Coupe
^ Since yours is an Auto, you have a non-revup VQ.
Revups are only on 05-07's with 6mt's.

Revup VQ's redlines at 7K; modified lower plenum collector; 298hp; think different valve duration timing too per ECU maps, compared to non revups which are 280hp (but have more tq than revups)

Hope that helped.

To clarify, you do not have a Rev-Up.

ok, thankyou for the info.

revup = higher redline more hp and less Tq

Is it better to have a non rev up with my intake manifold + CAI mods? since ive replaced the stock and am getting more air without giving up the TQ?

or I guess another question would be which do you guys prefer, rev or non rev? because it seems like one has tq @ a loss to HP and the other is the opposite.

Ultimately, horsepower is more important than torque.

Everyone will agree that the VQ35HR is definately faster than the VQ35DE, but the HR's torque hasn't gone up any.

+1 The winner is almost always area under the curve, not just HP.
