These cars are slightly prone to a few problems...mostly being the window motors SUCK and many of them have had tranny problems. They're not all lemons, they just have their share of problems. Also (and just personally speaking), not exactly the best gas mileage!

However all of that aside, this car is great and I love it. I wouldn't want to be driving anything else every day

tranny problems just with manual Gs? or same thing goes to auto? my friend used to work at one of the infiniti dealerships and told me that automatic Gs r just as fast as manual Gs. is that true?

Since when did manuals have tranny problems? Thats the Acura TL.
The only problems you should worry about are the window motors, and OC issue.. that I can think of off the top of my head... But remember, all cars have problems..

windows motors always go out, but easy to replace...
brake pads and tires depending on how aggressive you are...
auto is about .5 sec slower...
overall, the Gs are very reliable, easy car to work on, plenty of aftermarket between 350z and G35s...

is there anyway to see if the motor on a used car has been changed? I'm also in the hunt for a 04 and possibily an 05 6mt. I want the 05 for obvious reasons (high hp, interior, 19s). But then I want to make sure it will be reliable and get the 04... Such a dilemma...

How is the 05 any less reliable than an 04. It's actually more reliable besides the Oil Consumption. And if your 05 has oil consumption, you get a brand new engine for free. Why wouldn't you get 05?

And I'm pretty sure carfax will list if it had OC engine replacement.
