Well, I got an in accident today because of another driver's driving incompetance. I was driving west on telegraph on the 3rd lane (here in whittier,CA) and some @#$@ decides to exit the shopping center on my right....cut across 2 lanes and hit me in the 3rd lane.forcing me into the center island(divider).damaged my passenger side fender, passenger side rim from impact, drivers side rim from hitting curb on center divder, and bumper..the car isn't even drivable, one wheel is cocked in. I'm not so much concerned about the car getting fixed, but I know it will...but the question I have is the wheels...they are not chromed from the factory or the dealer...I bought them off a member here on the board. Does this mean my insurance will only replace damaged wheels with non-chrome? If so I guess I'll have the body shop send them out to get chromed and I'll fork the difference(if they are willing to do this)........this sucks !!!!

Daniel, the driver of the vehicle that is responsible for the accident is obligated to compensate you for ALL damage he caused to you and your vehicle - regardless of whether the damage was to something that came with the vehicle or something you added later.

Be sure to contact the other driver's insurance company ASAP and notify them that you plan to file a claim against his/her policy. Make sure you have a police accident report number (you did remember to call the police and have them file a report, didn't you?) and provide it to both the other driver's insurance company as well as your own.

Be sure to contact your own insurance company ASAP and let them know you were involved in an accident where the other driver was at fault and that you intend to claim against the other insured's policy - NOT your own.

If you follow these simple steps, you'll see the best results and the fastest, most fair compensation to you for your loss.

Not sure where you're at but here in Cali, the police will not normally come to the scene of an accident unless someone is hurt or traffic is being blocked.

The insurance company will replace after market wheels. Make sure you have some kind of receipt for them. Hopefully the other guy or gal's insurance company isn't one of those sleazy cheap insurance companies.

 

Sorry to hear of the accident.
Insurance should fix everything up for you, including any aftermarket pieces such as your rims. All they will need is a receipt. It's obvious that they're not stock too.

wow! that's so close to my route home. Where on telegraph? I sometimes exit off whittier to take telegraph to cut traffic on the 605 and 60 interchange.

 

Yup it happened heading East bound (I was)on Telegraph in the far left lane getting ready to make a left turn onto Carmenita. She was coming out of the parking lot in front of Bank of America. She just zipped out from the parking lot across 2 lanes and Wham. Unfortunetly I don't have a receipt for my Chrome wheels because I bought the Chrome rims off a member here on G35.com and sold my stockers. On a side note...I guess it's time to replace my mailbox huh?..lol. And I think that is a good point....maybe she was a Raider hater...lol. I feel little better than yesterday after it happened. Nothing I could do about it...it will get fixed and good as new (I hope). Thanks guys/gals.

I just got a ding on my left 1/4 panel yesterday.
The guy parked so friggin close to me with like 3 huge spaces on his left!

His cuzin opened the read door and I hard a thump...
