I don't understand it either. The coupe is flat out beautiful as it is/was and now the sedan will look a little more like the coupe from the front. That is sure not a bad thing.

As for a price increase, my friends at the Infiniti dealership told me not 10 minutes ago that the price increase would be more like $500. He said it was more of a relationship between the yen/dollar instead of increased production costs.

The other li'l tidbit that he gave me was about the interior. The old one was made of too many interlocking pieces which ended up causing sqeaking, especially in cold weather. The new dash is more intergrated with fewer pieces so it should rattle less if at all.

 

for what its worth today I picked up my car for the 30k service..service manager said the extra 15hp may come simply from remapping the ecu..of course I think this might just be his guess though

 

Some of you should calm down! You have a great car and the '05 changes are so so minor!
I think the interior looks a little better, but not much, and no one other than G owners would even notice!! Still no mention of the much desired memory seats, etc.
Even the extra 15 HP (manual only) is not a big deal and for the AT (which is most of us) there is no change.
So I can't see any reason to be upset or consider trading up for '05.
As to exterior. only the wheels are to be changed; we will have to wait & see how much different the wheels are and if they make the car look different.
Every year the new models add something.......so don't get upset.....every future year the car will be improved......I'm only trading up if a G45 comes out!!!!!!!

 

Sedan now looks like it has the coupe front end.

Also, no SAT button on the console. Wonder if that wiring is gone, too. How can I get rid of my useless tape player now.

 

I'll I have to say is HA HA!! I think the '05 changes suck! They some how make it look cheaper, if at all possible. The only thing I like is the alum. stripe across the dash, I like how it got bigger!

The shifter sucks more, and clock and ac display YUCK!

I am not really feeling the two tone interior w/ the gray carpet and the gray leather seats. I like the way the graphite interior looks in the 03's and 04's. I wonder if they put memory seats in the '05's. Also I can't believe they didnt relocate the damn parking brake to a handle next to the armrest like the 6mt though. My uncle's cadillac has the foot pedal parking brake! The gauges looks cooler but the new clock location looks out of place. Not enough improvement to trade my 04 6mt in for the 05 imho. I work too hard for my money to take the depreciation hit. Those who are gettin the 05's, I am jealous of the extra 15hps and the 19's though.

 

I'm glad they didn't make the lights into projectors or that would have made me go crazy. The 05 sedans look very nice to my eyes...it seems like infiniti tried to make it more like the coupe. Also, anyone else notice that the back lights look like they're shaped a little round-ish compared to the older models? Btw...19 inch wheels....drool. The 15 hp will probably be a new plenum design along with some ecu changes to deal with the plenum. That seems like a reasonable way to make the power.

Nissan has a super unstable product lines.... think about the previous G20, I30, and now M45? I mean... are they gonna make the cars to cover all 26 alphabets??????? @_@ DANGGGG

Nissan to me is like GUCCI or BURBERRY, very decent brand but it hurts buyers like sh*t to see the 40% off sales when you buy it at full price (Because nissan always upgrades and upgrades so whoever buys the car first is just bad luck)

Lexus is like Louis Vuitton, never goes on sale. Very classy production line too.... If IS400 is out already, I would have bought an IS400 instead and stop myself being an sacrificing customer that indirectly helps nissan to complete their final model by "paying them at MSRP"!!!!!

But dont get me wrong, I still love my G, just that, I feel that when I am paying 40K, I deserve a finished product rather than a on-process fawkin' prototype!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The new interior looks a little nicer than the '04. But its not nice enough for people who have 03 and 04 models to trade in. I dont even have the car yet, so I'm speaking from a third party point of view. Also, I dont even think the extra 15 hp bump is from any changes in engine design such as intake or plenum. If that were to happen, I feel it would just make more economical sense to implement those changes in the auto as well. I have a feeling the extra 15 hp is either purely marketing, or maybe just a simple change in ECU mapping (maybe from bumping up the redline or something).

Also, with the addition of 19's to the sport package, does that mean the 18's are obsolete now? I figure the base model comes with the 17's?

The interior photo from Infiniti looks to be a prototype. I think the real thing will look better in person.

I like the new gauges design, but don't like how they are farther apart with a big gap in the middle.

There still is a cassette deck. The Infiniti band on the radio is the cassette door.

Can't wait to get my '05 G35 Sport Coupe with 19's! I hope the wheels are a nice looking design!

 

No way will they get rid of satellite radio- the RADIO button replaces the separate AM/FM and SAT buttons with one button.

 

I am thinking that the 19" wheels will look awesome...they did an outstanding job with the 18" so I think they are on track with the 19ers. I just can't wait to see 'em!
