I'll still wait for the GTR, moving up from a corolla I could care less about the interior..I am interested in the extra 15hp but I'm sure its something that can be done in our cars too. Congratulations to those who will be purchasing the 05's..in some way I would think you have us current owners to thank for these upgrades.

 

do you think they will offer the rotary **** (for audio) and the titanium trim and console as parts so 03/04 owners can upgrade?

 

Seriously, I don't care about the interior makeover. It doesn't look all that great. The only thing I wish our coupe had was a brushed aluminum center console.

Another thing is that for only $450 you get +15 hp and 19" wheels. That will take me a about a grand in performance parts and probably 2 grand for the wheels once someone wants to sell them.

I was thinking of trading in my '04 coupe for one, but at this point I'm not even going to bother until I see the car in person. Even then I will probably save up a little and opt for a used '03 M3.

2004 Coupe 6MT fully loaded incl. side moldings and splash guards, but no satellite radio.

 

Man, i've been waiting since the beginning of 2004 to see what the changes would be, and I must say I really like it. But I still want to see picture of what the 2005 coupe will be like. Because from the picture I would assume it's the sedan because of the 4 window switches on the door. UNLESS the coupe got rear roll down windows too! heheh...

 

As Dan said, the numbers don't add up. All these changes and only $450 more? I doubt that... You would think Nissan is smart enough to know that they can increase price more than 450 and get away with it. Afterall, they are in the business of making money.

Personally, I'm mostly interested in the transmission change ("lower shifting effort" - not sure what that means) and the 19"s!!! Might not be a happy camper but I'm looking forward to test driving the new 6mt and seeing what the 19s look like.

 

The interior looks way better, I'm totally pissed off.

I don't know man, the more I look at that new interior the more it looks like a photoshop job. I guess we'll know for sure soon enough.

damn, more horses for the coupe. i think i'll hold off on the motor work then. good thing my kit didn't arrive yet either.

 

I hope that is only a photoshop job, because that interior is awful. Its a step back in my opinion. Why? Because first of all moving the clock was a major mistake. It just does not seem to fit jammed in that deep hole. It was a focal point, a logo, a trademark. It had that in the 04. Plus, its a strange mix right next to the digital stuff. I have no problem with digital, infact I like digital and if they just put some effort into making a digial clock look cool instead of buying some stock thing off the shell it could be very neat. Maybe it could have digital hands.

Secondly, theose big **** on the dash destroy the slick center console I grew to love so much. Sorry guys, big **** do not equal ergonomics. In this case they = redneck rivera. I might have to grow back my mullet.

Third, I do like the real aluminum and not the faux champaine paint but even that looks cheep. Why? Because it needs to wrap around the sides and not just look like some kind of cheep stick on. Come one guys, we are looking for the cool factor not the socker mom look like every other mini van.

Fourth, please get rid of the ORANGE!!! Take a hint from the people in this forum instead of your color marketing specialists. Blue is the color of lights we want. I dont even see any mods here in any other colors. That says something.

Finally, I beg of you to get rid of the square 70s buttons. Its not a livingroom on wheels. You didnt make the headlights square, but you could have. Why did you not fallow through with the conceptual desing with the interior? Two teams not talking to each other I think.

P.S. My mouse has more cureves then the inside of this car. See Pic: Notice how the left and right button dont even look like they are seperated from the shell, thats because the shell actually deforms when you press down where they would normally be located. At least someone is thinking outside of the box.

Personally, I prefer the layout and looks of the 04 interior vs the new one except:

1. real aluminum (with real wood option)
2. rotary **** vs buttons

It would be great if the hp increase is simply a plenum that we can buy and install. I'm still happy with my 04 and still enjoy driving it everyday. I'm more interested in the M45 coupe and GTR.

 

I would rather have '04 model which have better looks and cheaper.

 

Rashman.. What exactly sucks? I love my 2004 Coupe just the way it is? Are you going to trade your car each time they make a minor change? I am not trading mine unitl they make it into a convertible...

If you are not happy with your car the way it is...do mods and make it "your own" the way you like it, not them...
