Help - 225/40/18 Tire Fitment?
I'm buying barely used winter tires, the tires are 225/40/18 all around. I am assuming that they will fit, but I just want to confirm before I buy the tires and find out the hard way.
I have an 03 coupe with brembo's.
Also I heard that staggered fitment helps with VDC? Is there truth to that? & if so, how much does it help?

I run same size tires @ track events(275/35) all around.
I believe he might be asking if its k to run that tire size
for winter tires.
You don't want wide tires when you want to cut through the snow.
I don't see no problem him running 225 all around as long as the rims
aren't wider than 8.5,9.0 max.

The stagger set up on are cars is one inch taller and 1/2 inch wider in the Rear.
I run four of the same size in my winter set up, and its fine. My tires, however are within 1% of the OEM rear diameter. My Stockers are 245/45/18 rear, and the snows are 225/55/17, so both diameters are about 26.8". Your 225/40 is about an 1 1/2" smaller, so I'm not sure if that size sidewall will cause your VDC to screw up.
Four the same is no problem, just make sure your diameter is within specs of the stock rear tire.

I agree that a 225 should and can be used all around for snow tires. But he should be running a 225/45 all around as opposed to a 225/40 which is much shorter than stock, especially in the rear.
