Are non-rev up louder?

Hey wassup guys....well my friend has an 04 6mt coupe and i have an 05 6mt coupe. We work together so when its time for closing and going home we warm up the cars. But i noticed that the 04 idles louder. When he turns it on you hear that loud roar....while mines not so loud. We are both stock btw. I tried searching around but couldnt find any valid info. Thanks guys.

Your exhaust is newer, you can do the math from there.

lets just say his resonator got burnt a little, which will be little louder. His car is older, so his engine idle litte higher, which will be louder =)

Yes, Eurodre....wow! LOL

I believe what he's asking is if the '04 exhaust is different from an '05+ Revup
models due to a slightly different valve arangement and cam profile. And the
answer is yes, the '04 is a little lowder/different than the next generation
motor....but not enough to notice.

+1 yet it is noticable. My buddy has a 04 and I have an 07 (duh) and when we were parked side by side he picked up on the note difference right away. I can tell too but its not that huge of a difference. Once I get my HFC's on well see whos louder

well he isnt gonna mod his car. Its been stock for 5 years I think its going to stay that way haha hes looking at a E92 M3 anyway so I dont blame him for not caring about modding the G.

Do you just get on here to make smart comments about other ppl's posts? If you don't have something to add to the thread then don't post.

As far as your question goes what vhtran said makes complete sense, I have a 05 and my boy has a 07 and mine is clearly louder.

You are probably "short" in a couple of areas thats why you got to get online and be a bully where no one can see you. You probably wouldn't say have the stuff you do in person. I just got to stick up for my fellow G35 drivers...it gets old really fast. Go play some GTA and shoot some cops up it will make you feel better.
