regrets toyota supra

So I got a black 2007 g35 manual coupe, thinking I could mod it, make it faster all the good stuff ya know? Yeah I love my g35, but I gotta admit something. I wish I wouldve bought a '96 supra and just uprgaded that. Don't get me wrong I love my g, but ever darn mod is so expensive. I dont want dumb crap like clear corners, a new radio, why do exhausts have to be $700? I guess I just have to save. =/

Sell the G and buy your 13 year old Supra then.

i would take a 96 supra turbo over a g any day if the supra was unmolested. the thing is, low mileage unmolested supras go for $50k and over. you can make your g comparably fast though...

I don't know dude, I drove a gen 2 Teg before I got the G and I didn't think mods were any cheaper. You can get a good deal on a used setup too.

Should've done the research before u bought the G. I didn't either and was in for a shock when I saw all the prices for parts. Vendors justify it with various reasons, but in the end, all the parts are still overpriced for this car. Still, I saved up and got what I wanted, it's not hard, just takes a bit more time.

Theres almost no such things as an non upgraded turbo supra. They can be found but its just from the scarce random old guy that has had it in his garage. The supra as a car isnt the best, the motor is really good. fandboys drive the prices way up!

I agree, this car is absoultely out of this world when it comes to modding... 1400 for an HKS exhaust that gets you like 6 hp.. nice

Intakes lose power, headers do nothing, a spacer/ plenum will probably be your best bet for power and you still wont see more than 10-15 hp from..

A turbo/ supercharger will run you a good 10K and that won't even be safe/reliable on a non built motor.

2JZ for the win!!!

Nothing like the affordabilty of a BPU supra putting down well over 300hp at the wheels.

Coming from a BPU supra...

The supra is just as expensive to mod... Then you have to factor in reliability. Sure its a toyota, but mine had valve problems like a ****... It smoked all the time... trans had problems, etc...

Be thankful that you drive a beautiful car and if you want to mod it, save or search for used parts at a fraction of the cost.

^ yea supra parts are expensive too, but I would be willing to pay that much for the gains you get..

modding a factory turbo'd car vs a naturally aspirated car is a huge difference.
