The truth about resetting the ECU. Is it out there?
Lekker, you have Osiris still right? Is this just a "how to" for newbies or do you need to clear something/account for new mods?
I've never tried the pedal method, but I did disconnect the battery when I installed my MREV and spacer. I don't know if it worked or not...?

Twin, I do have OSIRIS installed but I just installed my FI test pipes yesterday.
Threw a SES light even with non-foulers. BUT, I have bigger issues, like Bank 1 O2 sensor going bad. Has nothing to do with the test pipes. It came on Friday night, before the test pipes were on.
We cleared the code though but I wanted to do a true ECU reset today. The pedal method worked great. And I loaded OSIRIS map 1 back in just to be sure it was active, everything is working wonderfully. SES light is gone.
BTW, I'm going to be headed down to UpRev on the 15th of Feb for their party and to get some final tweaking/tuning done. You gonna make it down there?
Also, have some FI HFCs up for sale as of today and I think you're just the guy for 'em!

Resetting the ecu basically makes the ecu re learn your driving habits if you choose to improve gas mileage.
The CEL light in this car is very hard to get rid of when running TP's or HFC's. Was the code P0430 or P0420? Those are the O2 sensor codes that will be thrown with test pipes. I had test pipes for a few months and I didn't get a CEL until I ran about 25 laps at Hallett. Ever since then it was like a bad ex-girlfriend, it just wouldn't go away.
Haa, I could use some HFC's since my stock cats are back on but I'm saving for FI. I wish I could make it to Austin but I have too many things going on between now and June. I'm actually killing time on driver right now because I'm waiting for the primer in my bathroom to dry so I can paint it.
