Why let the revs drop from the 1-2 shift in the first place? No fun that way.

I'm with afr0. I must admit I usually let them drop though, just so the rpms don't jump.

Re: 6MT + A/C On....

In most cars (and I assume the G35 is no different) the air conditioner's compressor, which runs off the fan belt, uses a clutch to engage/disengage it as needed to maintain cabin temperature as dictated by the interior's thermostat. When it's engaged, it puts a significant "parasitic" load on the engine. It would tend to drop RPMs more quickly in a throttle-off situation because of this. While you may like that aspect of it, the bad news is it's robbing the engine of power. If you want maximum power, kill the A/C before you floor it.

Re: 6MT + A/C On....

doesnt the a/c automatically switch off when the gas pedal is floored? btw, i'm in NY, so i know about tha damned hot weather, i've been running nothing less than A/C lately, dont mean to jack a thread, but what mpg have u guys been experiencing? i've dropped from 20 mpg to 17.5 mpg under the same driving manners. and filling up in jersey (20 cents cheaper than in NY), i spent $38 and my tank wasnt even empty! my yearly raise wont even cover the rise in cost of gasonline =(

Hummm.....and I was just thinking to myself how good my G power feels with the AC on....compared to other cars I have owned.
I can tell a very aslight difference.....but it doesn't feel "sluggish".

I'm the same way. I get in my car let the A/C run for a few mins to cool down. Then i drop the 2 front windows while i'm cruising around town. You gotta have a/c on the highway. But I never get tired of hearing my Injen CAI at WOT. And the look on people's faces as you go by WOT when their windows are down is PRICELESS.
