Yes. I'd say the doors make the biggest difference. Not necessarily in reducing road noise, but improving sound quality. If you only did one thing, do the doors.

NP. I can't wait to do mine. I have most of the audio equipment from my last car. Thankfully I had gutted it a couple months before it was stolen. So for my G, I just need deadening material, front speakers, dash kit/harness and wires.
Go ahead and do it anyways, but there probably won't be a huge reduction in tire noise. Don't get me wrong, you'll be very happy with the results. But no matter what I did on the last car, I just couldn't eliminate the tires noise.
But trust me, the improvement in sound quality canceled out any disappointment I had.
In for answer of how much material was used and where it was put.
I'll probably make a more informative and descriptive thread when I start this project, to help answer people's questions.

More answers to questions:
Weight- depends on how much you do. I Brown Bread in in both inner and outer internal door panels, a little in the bottom of the trunk. Filled the voids in the trunk lid, and undercoated the wheel wells. TOTAL WEIGHT= no more than 15 lbs.
Doors- I feel that the addition of Brown Bread and spraying the front inner wheel well had the biggest impact on noise. Not sure how much the work in the trunk helped.

I for those who are not familiar with the doors-
I have made reference to a inner and outer panel. Many cars have a plastic vapor barrier behind the door panel that you peel back to access the back side of the door itself (I referred to as inner panel). G35's have a metal panel (I referred to as a outer panel) in place of the vapor barrier. Refer to the link I posted.
I covered the entire outer panel. Just in case I need to get inside the door in the future, I made sure not to cover the bolts and the outline of the panel. On the inner panel, I applied two long strips between the crash safety bars and one along the bottom of the inside of the door.

How much- I used a little less than 18 sq ft of the Brown Bread. It cost less that Dynamat and is just as good.
Weight- I would be shocked if I added more that 15 lbs total to the car.
Spray undercoat- I removed the rear portion of the front plastic wheel well liners, cleaned up the surfaces to be coated with denatured alcohol. I used three cans of 3M rubberized undercoat. Make sure you mask off door hinge area on the wheel well side or undercoat will get on your door.

Whatever you use dont use asphalpt based deadner
even so some is not up to par with other deaners
Ive used Edeads newest stuff and it is terrible, it comes right off and will melt in the summer heat.
Second skin is a far superior product. You can tell by just touching them there is a huge diffrance.
I did 160 sq feet in my car and it made a diffrance. Not a huge diffrance like turning the car into a recording studio but a noticeable diffrance.
As far as weight goes. This is not something you would want to do if you are worried about weight at all.
Also if you are going to do this you more than likely have subs, amps, alot of aftermakret audio/video. So weight isnt your concern
Took me about 12 hours or so to do the entire car. That includes removing interior, caprpet, door panels, etc. Cleaning up the places you are putting the deader. Reinstallation of the interior.
This is not something you can do in one afternoon
