Manual or Automatic
My first G was a 5AT and I had it for a year and sold it. A month ago I got basically same car I had, but a 6MT without ever driving one before.
Let me tell you, all I want is for Spring to be here so I can drive it more. Its a blast!

Ok, 100% honest unbiased opinion from me.. 6MT is funner, WAAAAY funner.. but if u can't drive it, then your car will be slow.
I keep up with my 5 AT, if not constantly beat on 6MT Z's and G's because they drivers don't shift fast enough.. I'm getting ready to be flamed on this but its true.
If it were me I'd still get the 6MT cause its just so freaking fun to drive
I have never lost to a 350Z in my life... 4-0
Bottom line: Automatic is boring but for the most part is faster than 6MT mainly cause people just can't drive.

i got the auto just because ive only driven auto and i suck at manual i wouldn't want to mess up the transmission on my new g and not be able to get it fixed but the tiptronic shifting is a good feel i drive in stop and go traffic so a manual would get annoying anyway
auto = lose....srry

6mt ftmfw!!!!
plus u get brembos!...oh hell yeah!
I've only owned my M6 G for a week or two now, but I keep seeing all of these posts about M6 G's are a "hard manual to drive". Are you kidding me? This is one of the easiest manuals I've ever driven. It's almost impossible to not shift them smoothly. I keep hearing all this crap about them being hard to drive and I just laugh
As said above previously, if you want to DRIVE your car, get an M6, if you want the car to drive you, get an auto.
hahaha, so true...

i wouldn't buy a used mt tho most but them because their funner to drive = the car has been threw more than to the walmart driving lol good thing i bought my g from a lady in her 50's
No Trade Offs to Manual
I have a '05 6mt and yes did have syncho issues with the result of getting a new transmission & clutch under warranty. Other than having the aggravation of having to drive an automatic loaner for a few days there's really not a trade-off issue. Even here in DC with nations 3rd worse stop & go issues again there's not a trade-off issue with a manual. Anyone who understands the fun of a manaul - controlling precise shifts through straights & turns with engine throttle - would say might as well get a mini-van to go with your proposed automatic transmission!
