thx for all the responses guys... well Yes I know a 6MT is a lot more fun and quicker than a 5AT. I have driven 2 Manual cars and one was allmotor (13.6sec 1/4mile) and one was supercharged so I know a thing or two about being fast. What it boils down to is which is more reliable and in my situation a better used car to buy. I am new to g35s so I do not know how the transmissions on these cars are like, I would rather get a 6MT because I already test drove it and yes it was a lot of fun to drive. Although I've been reading that these cars transmission tends to be "troublesome" which I do not have the money to fix once I get it.

G35's have one of the best engines..a 5at would probably be a better resale because most people arent as enthusiatic about driving as you may be.

I've heard the stories about folks who drive clutches are more apt to drive it harder.

5AT is more reliable hands down. No question about that.

If you're buying the car because of it's sportiness, then hands down get the 6mt. I have a 6mt and in certain situations I just couldn't understand why you wouldn't want to have full control of your car. And you know you'll impress the ladies with your smooth driving technique, and sexy *** car.
Buy the 5at if you hate driving to work/school everyday and just want a very comfortable ride.

But man you've drivin stick for all your past cars, and I'm pretty sure you have drivin a automatic before. You should already know the up and downs of both transmissions

In "triptronic ****" You choose when you change gears aswell.. Whats your point? ****ing dumbass dip****.. I love how manual owners think they're so cool and tough.. You're not ****.

Ohhhhhh loook at me EYE DRIVE A SIIXXX EMM TEEEEE So what? Really?

Manuals are old news buddy.. Welcome to the 21st century.. Why is the GTR auto? All new Ferraris auto that will shift gears in less than half a second.. EVO 10 MR automatic.. Why don't you drive some of those cars with triptronic/paddleshifting? I drove a new S4 audi and the paddleshifting on that car was a billion times funner than a manual.

Want me to keep listing cars? Manual transmissions these days can't even hold a candle to autos. Ever heard of SMG/DSG AUTO transmissions? Dual cltuch?? Yup..

Its called technology my friend.. Don't let it get ahead of you.

HELL!! Even Forumla 1 cars are fvcking paddle shift now.. I dare you to tell me that a 6MT G is more fun to drive than a F1 car or similar.. I bet you feel stupid now.

Bye bye clutch

I'd agree with you except the auto in the G35 is not in the same galaxy as the sequencial gear boxes you are talking about. G35 just have regular slush boxes, similar to you average chevy cavalier.

That being said...I specifically chose the auto because it's not only more reliable, but for drag racing it's the better choice with decent power. I've had many manual cars and many auto cars, both with lots of power and the auto's were always faster ( traction FTW! ).
