2004 g35 coupe- weird headlight issue

so, I've got an 04 G... the passenger headlight HID went out, so I obviously put a new one in there...

that didn't fix the problem, so I took it to a shop, and we determined that it was the assembly. I picked up a new assembly off ebay, installed and it works perfect.

now, everytime I drive my car through the car wash... the passenger HID goes out... there is some condensation in the lens..

the buld seems to dry out and then work again... but now it wont come on at all..

so, with the water, I'm assuming its getting into the headlight, and frying the bulb. What about the ballast?

Should I just scrap it and buy a new headlight, ballast, everything?

Did you keep your same ballast?
Many overlook this.

Ebay/ local craigslist... If you buy the ebay set then you should adjust the lights properly after the install.

^ usually they don't come with the ballasts, but if you can, try to get the OEM ballasts. If not, try this website hid-lights.com and get the X5 brand. I have a pair and it's been and still working since 2003. Don't get the ones from Ebays for $80, they're cheap, will get corroded and lights sometimes don't ignite.
