parking

went to movies tonight, took my coupe. lot was crowded, so since i was going to have somewhat of a walk anyway, i parked farther down by 40ft or so at the end.

when i came out, there was a subaru forrester near me and a maxima near him. then a whole bunch of empty spaces.

wondered why the subaru parked next to me. i walked around car to look for keying and fortunately all was ok. but made me wonder

Re: parking

So the cars could mate and the offspring would have the subaru drivetrain and chasis and the g body...and the maxima was just a peeping tom

Re: parking

Studly, you scared me there for a second. I was thinking to myself "There goes the possibly most babied G on the board". I am glad you walked away without a ding .

Re: parking

was it at loews cause my lexus rx300 once got severely keyed there a couple years ago. i'm not too sure about bringing my coupe there or even to regal since all the junior high kids go there and smoke and cause havoc which is not where i want my g to be. my parents said that the place in marlboro on rt 9 i think is actually pretty safe cause it's a rich area and people respect other cars there...plus its only about 15 minutes from eb - same as loews and regal.

Re: parking

That always happens to me. I'll park way at the far end of a lot with at least 10 spaces between me and the next car, and invariably when I come back to my car, there is someone parked in the next space.

Re: parking

I would "never" leave my G in a parking lot to go to the movies. But hey, but that's just me. I would find some other way. It's a good thing that nothing happened, but I think you seriously dodged a bullit. If you can help it at any time, a good rule is to never take chances. Glad to hear that nothing happened to your G while you were gone. I'm not paranoid, but I've heard about too many bad things happening to vehicles at cinema's. Just my opinion.

Re: parking

I think they were just other people with nice cars who didn't want to park in the crowd and figured that parking next to someone who cared enough to park out away from the crowd probably meant parking next to someone who wouldn't likely ding their's if the lot got full.

If I have a choice, and the situation demands, I'll always park next to the car that looks the most like the driver is aware and therefore least likely to ding mine...

Just an opinion.

Re: parking

Speaking of this...

I just dropped my 6 week old G off at the bodyshop today. I park way out at work and always in an end spot with "hatching" next to it so that I have some extra space. I even park so that if someone parks next to me it will most likely be with the driver's door away from my car.

So, what happened you ask? I forgot to account for the idiot in the SUV who didn't know how to turn and drove into my passanger door / rear quarter with their front tire and then proceeded to just drive away.

No paint damage but dented enough so that paintless dent removal wasn't going to cut it. So, now I am going to end up with a the door being repainted once all of the dents are repaired. I feel like my G will never be the same now...
