A few odd G35c questions...
Hey all,
I am kind of new to the forums, don't get much time to post or search around due to work and my current computer situation, but had some questions about the car that I can't quite seem to find.
1) I know that if you click and hold the unlock button on the key fob the windows automatically roll down, but they do not do that for locking and automatically rolling up. Is there a way to do this?
2) Got the chance to drive a loaner 2008 G35x and it had the keyless push button start up, I was wondering if that system could be put in to any G35 in one way or another.
3) The navigation system locks out the majority of the controls when you are driving, I was wondering if there was a way to override this, it is quite annoying.
4) Since I picked up my 2004 G35 coupe I have had a clutch and flywheel replaced under warranty, or so the dealership claims. Anyways, since I've gotten the vehicle back I feel as though there is a lot of tapping coming from the throw out bearing and I can sometimes hear it tapping during engagement. The dealership is saying that this is normal and it is expected from a 6MT. After driving the 2008 G35x loaner and seeing, feeling, and hearing the quality of the overall vehicle, I find that "normal" throw out bearing tap on the manual transmission versions to be a bit odd. Do you guys all get that tap? You can especially hear it when you are next to a wall, if you do not know the possible sound, it only happens when the clutch is disengaged in neutral. I just feel that the dealership is dodging me since I caught a lot of non-certified problems with a "certified" vehicle and got them to fix it within the first week of owning it; especially now that I have aftermarket test pipes and Y-pipe already installed which threw a check engine light. I just need reassurance that it is normal or not.
5) Finally, I have Megan Racing test pipes and my check engine light has been on pretty much constantly since installed. The first two codes were for catalytic converters being too cold, but then we found that the oxygen sensors were a little loose. I believe my mechanic said there were spacers for the oxygen sensors and now I have a lean code. So should those spacers not be used? I mean, nothing I have done should change how rich or lean the vehicle runs, so I am guessing the oxygen sensors just aren't getting good enough readings. Atleast that's the only possibilities that makes sense to me. Test pipes and a Y-pipe shouldn't throw a check engine light, especially since the Megan Racing test pipes have a 99.9% effective check engine light fix, or so they say. Anyone experience problems like this? And did any of you install them with all stock exhaust? Did you get a lot of rasp from 2500RPM up?
Thanks for all your help guys!

2.U probably could get that worked out.. but it would probably involve alot of changes to ur dash if not a new dash.. and it would really cost u.. ur prolly better off just sticking wit the key lol.
3.I actually dont know that one.. i think they mighta made that full proof. .. but someone has to have figured that out..
4.Dont know that one sorry.. 5AT
5.Ive heard about the rasp.. that is normall.. the check engine ive also haerd about.. the spacers usually take care of that problem.. the airflow is just diff and when u put the spacers it lifts the sensor alil and the sensor thinks everything is stock basically.. but becareful wit the sensors.. really fragile
hope i helped alil

vrezhg, thanks! Helped a lot, but hopefully someone else can get a little more detailed with some of them. I'll take all the help I can get though, much appreciated!
1. You can insert the key in the door and turn it and hold it there, it will roll up the windows, but there is no way to do it from the key fob.
2. I think I recall someone doing it but it takes quite a bit of work, probably more than its worth, if you want you could just buy an alarm with remote start and it should be cheaper.
3. I think KP Technologies sells a module to fix that.
4. I have a AT so can't help you there.
5. Sorry can't help on this one either.

If Infiniti replaced the clutch/flywheel they should have replaced the
throwout bearing and no it shouldn't be making any noise. The older they
get the more noise they make but it's more of a huuuuuuuummmm....LOL
Being aware of the reliability of Infiniti mechanics they probably didn't replace
the throwout bearing....
Take it back, let them know that being new
they shouldn't make any noise....installed correctly! Nissan mechanics are
sooooooo much better from my experience....strange.
