I heard changing out your tranny oil once you hit something like 45k or 50k plus is a bad thing. As a matter of fact, I believe Sears and Pepboys wont change out your tranny oil if your car is over that ballpark milage.This makes no sense to me, but they stated it has something to do with the tranny fluid NEEDING to have the metal shavings mixed in. Being that the case, then would that not make it that I can no longer change out my tranny fluid ever??? Just doesnt seem right.

My warranty is good until 2014 or 100K miles which is good enough reason
for me to stick with Nissan fluids. I'd love to use a better synthetic brand
trans fluid but it's not worth the difference, if there is one!
To the member that takes his G35C to Sears or PepBoys for service, you
gotta be either nuts or cheap! I took my wife's Vette to Sears for a new
battery, watching their mechanics work was like watching a monkey f^ck
a football....those are not qualified mechanics, not in anyone's book!

But this stuff I heard never really made sense to me at all. I would think you would want all the gunk out of the oil/fluid/etc. and not keep particles of whatever swimming around in there. Afterall, isnt that one of the purposes of changing out oils aside from viscosity breakdown?

I think that is the most outrageous statement changing old fluid with new is bad? why? I have never once seen a reason why it could be bad as long as you use proper fluid and a clean method making sure you refill to the proper level how is that bad? I have flushed mine it seemed like it helped a little. Made me feel better.

You heard flushes were bad, how is that possible? By doing a flush you're
just adding twice the amount of trans fluid. You drain the trans, refill and
let it circulate then drain and fill one more time....how could this possibly
do damage? By doing the flush this way you're insuring all the old trans fluid
is removed/gone. When someone makes a statement ask, WHY? They
obviously don't have an answer which leads to you're passing on misinformation....

kind of. You have to take it out of two places. One place, the oil pan behind the engine oil pan. and you have to take the oil out of the converter.
